The world is on fire. Humanity teeters on the brink of extinction. Rents and food costs are at historic highs. Life expectancy is slipping backwards for the first time since it was measured. There are wars everywhere, with no exit strategies. Artificial Intelligence..which absolutely no working-class person wanted or asked for...is being violently forcefed to us by our governments, businesses and academic institutions. Douchebag ‘content creators’ are tryn to wear surveillance gear to the fucking corner pub. And our fcKing phones are making us all fuCkng stupid. The shit is fuuucked. Like. All the shit. Real shitty. Real fucked. // August 4 and August 5, the RHYMETHiNK homies will be presenting a 4-set lecture series, over beats in standard rap form, discussing these bleak pressing realities and outlining some simple, everyday actions that YOU (yes, you) can take to unfuck things and help soften our collective landing in the fiery future hellscape we are 100% definitely headed for. And other shit like that 🖤

TKARONTO // FRI MAY 01 // BSMT 254 // 2 weeks from tonight the RHYMETHiNK collective will be celebrating May Day 2026 with song, dance and solidarity. In dark times, solidarity is the brightest light we got. And fuck knows these are the daRKest of dark times. So, we hope you’ll get up, get out, and get down with us – to raise some fists and funds, in solidarity with the goodly badasses from: Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction and the West End Community Action Network // it’s a big line up, from the mics to the dancefloor. And all proceeds are going these fine orgs; helping support the vital frontline work they been doing in our communities🖤

Yesterday, we highlighted our homies from TIHR. Today, we wanna introduce you to our fam from the West End Community Action Network (WECAN). Started in 2024, WECAN is a tight-knit crew that has been out in the community, providing care and supplies for our unhoused and precariously housed neighbours.. that the Fed, Province and City governments have left behind. We got some old homies involved in this network, and we are proud to support the work they do. Please give em a follow and show em some love!

WEST END COMMUNITY ACTION NETWORK (WECAN)
“We’re a small, diverse group doing our best to bridge the gaps between government systems and community needs through mutual aid, harm reduction, and advocacy. We do outreach in Toronto’s downtown core for folks who are unhoused or precariously housed, and work with artists, musicians, and grassroots groups to raise awareness about the housing and toxic drug crisis. We believe community is how we create care and safety”

TKARONTO // FRI MAY 01 // BSMT 254 // Shit is bLEEak. We can all feel it. It’s been a lonnnng while since our collective has felt ‘celebratory’ about anything. But we saw May Day coming. And saw that it landed on a Friday this year. So we decided we gotta mark the occasion. And what’s the only known remedy for politically dark times? SOLIDARITY. This May Day, we invite you to celebrate the date with some solidarity - raising fists and funds for the goodly badasses from: Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction and the West End Community Action Network // big line up, from the mics to the dancefloor. And all proceeds for the event are going these fine orgs; helping support the vital frontline work they been doing in our communities.

For those that aren’t familiar with TIHR or WECAN, please let us introduce you. We know you’ll be proud to support their work. First up, the big homies Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction. RHYMETHiNK has done a couple fundraising events with TIHR in the last year. We love them. Deeply respect the work they are doing. And are proud to support them 🖤

TORONTO INDIGENOUS HARM REDUCTION (TIHR)
“TIHR is a grassroots initiative that aims to reduce harm around stigmatized experiences such as substance use, displacement and other survival and resistance strategies resulting from racism and colonization.

TIHR is out in the community engaging in frontline care, radical education and political advocacy on a daily since 2020. We are Indigenous intergenerational survivors living and working on our traditional territories in the midst of a toxic drug poisoning epidemic that disproportionately impacts Indigenous people.”
