@honeydipbar one year celebration 🎂🍯

i’m endlessly grateful to be a small part of this space and the community that’s been built here. it’s such a privilege to witness and document so many moments of joy, creativity, and connection.

one of my favourite things about photography is capturing people at their happiest, the laughs between friends, the pride on stage, the hugs, the dancing, and the little moments that might otherwise be forgotten. getting to preserve those memories, and in some small way contribute to london’s queer history, means more to me than i can put into words.

if you haven’t made it out to honey dip yet, let this be your sign. come experience the magic for yourself!!

and if you’re in any of these photos and would like a copy, feel free to send me a message, i’m always happy to share them!

happy one year, honey dip. here’s to many more. 🍯💛

one year of honey dip 🍯💓

for the past year, honey dip has been a home for queer joy, creativity, connection, and community. getting to document so many of these moments has been one of the greatest privileges i’ve ever had. as a photographer and filmmaker, preserving queer stories and queer history in london is deeply important to me. these spaces, these people, and these moments deserve to be remembered.

thank you to everyone who has made this space what it is and to everyone who came out to celebrate 💓

full 13-minute recap is now on youtube, photos coming soon :)

TKARONTO // FRI MAY 01 // BSMT 254 // The RHYMETHiNK collective have been running fundraising events out of BMST 254 for a couple years now. We are proud to have raised funds for Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction, West End Community Action Network, World Beyond War Toronto, the Toronto Community Justice Fund, and SURJ Toronto. And EVERY.ONE of these fundraising events have involved at least one (or more) of the dOpe DJ’s we have on the May.1 line up. Our musical comrades, DJs.. Lanaconda, Rhombi, and aboLish SHOW UP for community on the regular, and know how to keep a dance floor moving. We love their sets, we love their vibes, and we love working with them. They are all solid comrades and we’re proud to be on a bill with them. We been sharing some info on these homies… today, we wanted to highlight our good homie, and RIVAL Sound System owner/operator, Rhombi.

RHOMBI
Hailing from Northern Ontario and based out of Toronto, Rhombi serves up a smooth and eclectic mix of eyes-down, meditative selections as well as hard hitting system sounds, weaving together a range of Drum & Bass, Jungle, Techstep, Drumfunk, and Footwork. As the owner and operator of RIVAL Sound System, they help lead the next generation of local artists on the foundation of soundsystem music.
