Over time, the white space became more than a visual choice for me. And from the first glance it might look like I leave the white space but the process is slightly different.

The painting exists fully before I begin covering parts of it.

Not to erase what was there, but to create space for what wants to emerge.

I fell in love with white background years ago and only recently started to realize the meaning of it in my art. 🤍 by @ri.inc

The Generous Hour

I wonder how often we find ourselves in the middle of something beautiful without even realizing it.

We go about our days, making plans, taking care of little things, moving from one moment to the next.

I think about the little bee in this painting. So tiny among all that abundance, yet so busy with its own purpose. There is something very human about that.

Perhaps we are not so different. Moving through these enormous, beautiful, temporary moments of our lives, so occupied with what comes next that we sometimes forget to notice what is already here.

And maybe that's what makes an ordinary hour so generous. Not that it gives us everything we wish for, but that it holds so much more than we notice.

This painting feels special in a very interesting way! It feels a little bit different not only in a mood but in a way the story is told. Color story is unusual for me. But I remember this hare was in front of my eyes for awhile and I knew I needed to paint him. This year (just like the previous one) had surprises, change of plans, things that happened and triggered a chain of events. And I choose to stay curious about what's next and not what happened and why it happened ✨️

Finally finished this painting is finished🦉
This little owl had been on my mind for months. I kept seeing him there - perched on his tiny house, surrounded by flowers, looking out from this strange little world.
So I finally painted him before he could fly away. 🤍

The white paint covers what I’ve already built, but that’s exactly the point. Not everything has to stay visible to have mattered🤍

Among Familiar Things is about arriving somewhere you already belong. Not because you've found a perfect place, but because you've recognized the small things that have become home. The returning swallows, the tea waiting to be shared, the blue hydrangeas in bloom - each carries a sense of welcome, as if nothing needed to be earned, only noticed. It is a reminder that belonging is often woven into the ordinary rituals, objects, and moments that accompany us through life, waiting for us to see them.🐦🪻 by @ri.inc

Had an absolute blast at the annual Milan Art Experience and Coach Retreat!! ❤️ I feel so lucky to be part of this incredible team and community.

I had 5 of my students graduate from the Mastery Program in person, led a workshop on Divine Composition with the incredible @karenchangart and @dareejohnson.fineart, sold my Outstanding Artist finale painting, gave a speech at the conference, and met so many incredible new people.

There was also shopping and quality time with my favorite @lisacunninghamartist, laughing until my cheeks hurt with @ritikaaurora_fineart, games, late-night fun, and so many good moments with my incredible friends and fellow coaches. ❤️

Coming home with a very full heart - full of emotions, inspiration, new connections, and so much gratitude.

I believe some ideas for paintings we come up with and some - arrive. And the ones that arrive need to be chased and put on a canvas. Those are the special ones. The owl has been on my mind for a few months already. I really hope to finish it before my next trip next week.
