RIB Ceramics pots are currently available for sale! if you’re looking for something unique for the next time you buy flowers, this slab-built ā€œ2-d illusion vaseā€ looks like a minimalist drawing of a greek amphora.

you can purchase and pick up this piece on-site at Good Dirt LA Pottery Studio, located at 4505 S Centinela Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90066, between march 23rd-may 3rd 2026. each pot was made at Good Dirt LA and its sister studio, Members Only LA in Culver City, over the past year and a half. i’ve had the privilege of working at these studios since 2023; teaching classes there and witnessing my students’ and peers’ creativity has compelled me to play more with color and form :) taken in Good Dirt LA by @rib.ceramics

to commemorate the occasion, i invited two of my gracious colleagues, Julian Samuels (@lup_fat) and Evelyn Hang Yin (@yinhangevelyn), to collaborate with me in using and documenting the ā€˜blates.’ after Julian, a professional chef, designed a sweet french toast recipe that would pop against the muted blue of the blates, the three of us spent a warm summer day discovering how to use our complementary creative skillsets to create a beautiful presentation of Julian’s food and my pottery. Evelyn, a talented photographer and videographer, documented the experience and assisted us with food styling and lighting. taken in In the Kitchen by @rib.ceramics

a belated update to my portfolio, but a highlight of last summer: the Executive Director of @artworxla commissioned RIB Ceramics to create a set of sixteen bowl-plates (ā€˜blates’) for the organization’s Board of Directors!

artworxLA is an LA-based arts education nonprofit that combats the high school dropout crisis with a four-step ā€˜ladder’ program: workshops, paid internships, scholarships, and job opportunities for teenagers in alternative high schools.

because the organization focused its 2025 annual fundraiser campaign on the ā€˜ripple effect’—the notion that its programming caused positive outcomes that extended outwards into all realms of in its students’ lives—i designed each blate with a unique ā€˜water drop’ pattern consisting of concentric circles spilling outwards from its center to its edges. i found the labor-intensive process both challenging and meditative :) by @rib.ceramics

Thank you so much to everyone who attended Sunny Sunday Café last week, co-hosted by me, @kvillanz, and @gatheredflavors! With your help, we raised $2,000 in mutual aid for Los Angeles families impacted by immigration raids :’)šŸ–•šŸ§Š

last but not least, more bowls of different shapes (clover, lilypad, and round). the clover & round bowls are a great size & shape for soups; the clovers are shallower and better for entrées. you can rest a utensil on any of the indents on each rim :p by @rib.ceramics
