After spending most of the day on a train back from Farnham it was great to connect with @joannamanousis who's a glass artist but who grew up in Shrewsbury. She was back in town for a few days and I'm glad we managed to meet up. Our paths have only crossed recently but it was funny talking about some similar connections and places from the past as well as talking glass, craft and putting the world to rights over a nice curry.

I love meeting more Shrewsbury craft connections 😁

It was a busy second day of Festival of Crafts at @farnhammaltings it's been a pleasure working with our group of 19 @design_nationuk makers and see 4 more who were doing the show as well as catching up with makers friends. I also popped over to @newashgate to have a look round and then to @brightwells_farnham to see @libby_daniels_ceramics at her group show as part of Farnham Craft Month.

Then it felt like it was all over before it had barely begun and time to pack down. I got my steps in going up and down the stairs with boxes.

It was great to be surrounded by lovely people but the current economic climate is definitely challenging!

Had a nice Italian meal with good friends @bonnerleather before heading back via two trains to the Camberley Travelodge.

Home tomorrow.

It was a nice day catching up with various makers at the Festival of Crafts at @farnhammaltings and supporting the @design_nationuk group of 19 makers in the Long Kiln room.

Great to hang out with a bunch for a drink afterwards for some social.

Hoping for a good day for everyone tomorrow!

Starting on Friday I'll be off on my travels again as I get up stupidly early and get several trains to Farnham to help set up a group of @design_nationuk members at the Festival of Craft at @farnhammaltings . I'll be down over the weekend and will also check out Farnham Craft Month and @newashgate whilst I'm there. If you're in town let me know and say hi. I'll be commuting in from the Camberley Travelodge and get to do a few new bits of railway 😁

I get back home next Monday before driving up to Manchester on the Thursday to help another DN at @great_northern_events GNCCF at Victoria Baths over the following weekend. I'm staying in the glam Knutsford Services Travelodge for 2 nights then the Warrington services one for 1 night. It is near IKEA so I'm all good for meatballs for dinner.

On the Saturday I'm going to visit @worldofglassart in St Helens to see the @contemporaryglasssociety Cabinet of Curiosities exhibition as well as the @ifog2026 British Glass Biennale exhibition. Then back to GNCCF where I'll be awarding a @greengradsuk Graduate Prize for DN then packing down and driving home.

I'm looking forward to seeing lots of Maker friends over the next two weeks, that makes all the traveling about worth it 😁

Having loaded my car up with stuff from Crafted Futures and dropped off @mrs_hayleyb at @oxcombepottery I headed across country to the @harley_foundation to see the Open exhibition with a mix of art and craft and lots of familiar names. Great to see the work of several @design_nationuk members and maker friends on show plus some in the shop. I even had a quick walk down the path to Creswell Crags to see @martinsmithstudio tree sculpture I filmed there several years ago.

Then it was onwards and home.

Today I drove over to Lincolnshire to meet @mrs_hayleyb at @oxcombepottery . I had a wander around and met the wildlife. Peacocks on my car was a novelty although they did leave the most enormous turds on the roof...thanks 🤣

Got to load up all the tools and bits and pieces I used for Crafted Futures and bring back to mine in the morning. Then I'll head home via the Harley Gallery and see the open exhibition as I've not been there for a while.

Today I popped up to @ruthincrafts to visit the opening of the new exhibitions there.

It was great to see @martinsmithstudio @sbrainy @ashrafhanna_ceramicsandglass @jineuikimceramics @veritypulfordartist @gregory2970 @jaejunlee_ceramics @craigmitchellceramics @samanthajanerhodes

Plus the work of @hannahgibsonglass in the retail showcase.

It was great to see @jonronson this evening at @theatre.severn talking about his new book. Such bizarre stories! I managed not to fall asleep after the craziness of London. taken in Severn Theatre, Sherwsbury by @richard.foot

Between the 7th and 21st Sept I travelled 1415 miles on 46 trains, 9 tubes, 2 trams and a few miles of walking.

2 down and backs from Shrewsbury to London, one up and back London to Manchester plus various journeys in and around London and north Kent.

Spent time at Birmingham New Street, London Euston, Crewe, Finsbury Park, Hornsey, Moorgate, Manchester Piccadilly, London St Pancras International, London Blackfriars, Sidcup, Woolwich Arsenal, Sittingbourne, Queenborough and London Kings Cross.

Rode on various trains including a Class 67 / MK4 couches, Class 158, 390, 717, 700, 196, 805, 707, 465, 395 and 385's plus M5000 trams. 🚄

Crafted Futures is all down, packed and on its way to its respective maker's home. What a couple of weeks that's gone by in a flash.

I headed in from Woolwich around 7am and was at the gallery from 8am till 5pm and the handover to Phoebe from @coinstreet_se1

Lots of unscrewing, vinyl removal, filling holes, painting, packing and mopping. I've been running on fumes for days and looking forward to my own bed and hopefully some rest. 🛏️

Now waiting for my train from Euston. I do hope the trains all run smoothly 🤞

It was the last day of @design_nationuk Crafted Futures show at @oxotowerwharcf for @l_d_f_official .

It's been a fab show with great makers! I headed in from Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey for the last time on the high speed train. I think the Class 395 Javelin is my new favourite train 🚄.

It was nice to see @bobcatgallery

Started the pack down this evening and got a fair bit done before heading to Woolwich, my home for the night.

Early start in the morning for the final date of derig before heading home after living out of a bag for most of the last two weeks.
