POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Following having a look around the @theworldofglasssthelens and the old furnaces I decided I'd take a trip to Crosby Beach to see the Anthony Gormleys statues as well as try out a Mersey Rail class 777.

It's been a gloriously sunny day and the beach although busy was really peaceful and calm. Nearest I've got to the sea for a while. I had a wander about. I'd not realised just how many figures there are on the beach from some close to the dunes and some further out. It's a great view looking across to North Wales and Snowdonia and the Wirral and Birkenhead and the industrial docks of Liverpool.

As I had to change trains in Liverpool back to St Helens I decided to pop by the @bluecoatdisplaycentre for a bit more craft and a chat with the staff.

Headed from St Helens to my next Travelodge near Warrington and M62 via IKEA for an early meatballs dinner. Busy day and the other side of my back has been playing up today so I'm going to chill in bed with a tennis ball under it watching shit TV. Oh the glammer 😂

After spending most of the day on a train back from Farnham it was great to connect with @joannamanousis who's a glass artist but who grew up in Shrewsbury. She was back in town for a few days and I'm glad we managed to meet up. Our paths have only crossed recently but it was funny talking about some similar connections and places from the past as well as talking glass, craft and putting the world to rights over a nice curry.

I love meeting more Shrewsbury craft connections 😁

Congratulations to Clover Lee – New Ashgate Gallery's Festival of Crafts Award Winner!

We are delighted to announce that Clover Lee, exhibiting with Design-Nation at Farnham's Festival of Crafts, has been selected for the New Ashgate Gallery Award 2026!

The award offers Clover a solo exhibition at New Ashgate Gallery in 2027, giving her the opportunity to showcase her work to new audiences and take the next step in her creative career.

At New Ashgate Gallery, we are passionate about recognising and supporting exceptional early-career talent. We believe that outstanding emerging makers deserve opportunities to develop their practice, build their reputation and reach new audiences.

A special thank you to Bronwen Robinson from our gallery team, who selected Clover for the award.

Our thanks to Farnham Maltings for a wonderful anniversary edition of the Festival of Crafts, and also to Design-Nation for its commitment to supporting contemporary makers.

Congratulations, Clover! We cannot wait to share your work with our visitors in 2027.

It was a nice day catching up with various makers at the Festival of Crafts at @farnhammaltings and supporting the @design_nationuk group of 19 makers in the Long Kiln room.

Great to hang out with a bunch for a drink afterwards for some social.

Hoping for a good day for everyone tomorrow!

Crafted Futures is all down, packed and on its way to its respective maker's home. What a couple of weeks that's gone by in a flash.

I headed in from Woolwich around 7am and was at the gallery from 8am till 5pm and the handover to Phoebe from @coinstreet_se1

Lots of unscrewing, vinyl removal, filling holes, painting, packing and mopping. I've been running on fumes for days and looking forward to my own bed and hopefully some rest. 🛏️

Now waiting for my train from Euston. I do hope the trains all run smoothly 🤞

It was the last day of @design_nationuk Crafted Futures show at @oxotowerwharcf for @l_d_f_official .

It's been a fab show with great makers! I headed in from Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey for the last time on the high speed train. I think the Class 395 Javelin is my new favourite train 🚄.

It was nice to see @bobcatgallery

Started the pack down this evening and got a fair bit done before heading to Woolwich, my home for the night.

Early start in the morning for the final date of derig before heading home after living out of a bag for most of the last two weeks.

The first week is done and I'm really pleased with how it's all come together! It's been busy and some great sales so far of beautiful work.

Many thanks to @susan.swales.ceramics who kindly put me up during the past week. I've enjoyed my north London trains between Hornsey and Blackfriars via Finsbury Park.

Tomorrow I'm on a mad mission up to Manchester to see What is Precious? at @watersidearts_ in Sale and then back down to London on weds arvo for the rest of the week. 🤪

Thanks to all those who joined me last night for my 50th Birthday party, it was lovely to catch up with lots of people including makers I know now, people from Platform days, family and Arron from @racollaborations times. There was even Hawaiimisu 🤣

It was great to see @fayepj_artist and Chris who I missed getting a photo with.

As I've been reminded, I'm half a century old, arh! Crikey!
