13.1 on December 13th! For well over a decade, I’ve wanted to get back to half marathon distance and, today, I did it! It wasn’t fancy. I went to a nearby river trail, ran away from the mountains for 6.6 miles and then ran back towards them until my watch said 13.1. I carried two reservoirs in my CamelBak, one contained about two liters of water and the other had about a liter of Nuun in it. I ate Trader Joe’s fruit leather about every two miles. Back when I last ran half marathons, I would have never dreamed of stopping to stretch but I did that at the halfway point. I’m not gonna win any races but I’m glad I did it. #running #distancerunning #fitnessinyour40s by @richardthebarth

These are most of the items needed to make an exceptional cup of coffee in the woods. The hatchet is essential for preparing kindling to start the fire to boil water. It’s also important to keep it around to fend off the marauders that show up after they smell delicious coffee. #coffee #camping #campingcoffee @darkheartcoffeebar by @richardthebarth

21 years ago, Kyle and I were cast opposite each other in Big River but I had a contractual conflict that kept me from playing Huck to his Jim. When asked to participate in Break a Leg Theater Works’ Summer Soirée, I figured it was as good a time as any for us to sing this! @kylewrentz @breakalegtheaterworks by @richardthebarth

Recently had the absolute pleasure of attending James Bullard’s birthday celebration in Paris! I gave a toast. The first photo is of me giving the aforementioned toast (this was a serious part but I also made them laugh) and the second is James’ reaction to it. The other photos are memorable scenes from around Paris, mostly taken on my Nikon D3400. Lots of joy and laughter with the occasional deep conversation peppered in while I was there. Feeling very fortunate. @jamesebullard #nikond3400 #paris #europe by @richardthebarth

We’ve celebrated some milestones recently! Lorelai graduated from Cañon City High School and is headed to SEU in Florida in the fall. Seth graduated from WyoTech with a focus in collision and refinishing. He received an Outstanding Graduate award and was the student speaker. Very proud of both of them! by @richardthebarth

Zoom in on the pigeon’s eye. Could have framed it all a bit better but I was really trying to get that almost cartoonish eye. #paris #pigeon #nophotosplease #nikond3400 by @richardthebarth

I know it might be warm-up weight for some of you but I’ve been quietly working towards a 300lbs deadlift and I accomplished it today! #fitness #fitnessat44 by @richardthebarth
