One day, my kids may see moments like this and never realize how uncomfortable they were for me.

They’ll just see their mom & dad standing on a stage.

But I’ll remember what it took to get there.

The nerves.

The fear.

The decision to step outside my comfort zone.

Because I’m not doing this just for a title or a stage.

I’m building for my family.

And if becoming a better version of myself means doing things that scare me…

Then I’m willing to get uncomfortable.

Business will always be there, but moments like this. This is what truly matters to me. I’ve learned that success isn’t about how much I achieve or how busy I stay. It’s about building a life that feels real, whole, and true to who I am. The older I get, the more I realize that presence is the real luxury, being fully with the people who remind me why I do any of this in the first place. by @rickarroy

I just rated myself financially on a scale from 1 to 10…

Right now? I’m a 5.

Not because I’m not earning.
My business has generated revenue.

But most of it goes right back into growth.
That’s the season I’m in.

I’m not broke…
But I’m definitely not free yet.

And I’ll be honest, locking up money in traditional retirement accounts never sat right with me.

Limited access.
Government rules.
Early withdrawal penalties.

I don’t want red tape.
I want control.

What changed the game for me was understanding how properly structured life insurance can function like a personal capital system.

One dollar inside my policy does multiple jobs:

✅ It grows tax-advantaged
✅ I can access it through policy loans
✅ It can continue compounding while capital is deployed
✅ It provides living benefits and a death benefit

All from the same dollar.

I don’t have to choose between growth and protection.

That’s the system I’m building now.
One built on access, control, and protection.

So yeah — today I’m a 5.

But six months from now?

That number will change.

I need to say something I’ve never said out loud.

For years… I had it wrong.

I was grinding. Providing. Paying bills.

But I wasn’t truly protecting my family.

I grew up learning how to survive — not how to build wealth.

So I thought life insurance was for dead people.

Then one night my neighbor asked me:

“If you didn’t wake up tomorrow… would your family be okay?”

I didn’t have an answer.

That silence changed everything.

What I learned?

Life insurance — structured right — isn’t just about death.

It’s about building.
Protection.
Cash value.
Freedom.

Now if I don’t wake up tomorrow, my family is okay.

And if I do?

We’ve got something building for us.

Most people don’t have a money problem.

They have a belief problem.

I’m not in competition with anyone.
I’m chasing the version of me that God created before the world tried to label me.

Every day I give it my best.

You want to know what’s really scary?
Not failing.
Not rejection.
Not messing up.

What’s scary is staying exactly where you are.
Waking up a year from now with the same doubts.
The same stress.
The same bank account.
The same excuses.

See, failure teaches you.
It sharpens you.
It shows you what you’re made of.

But playing it safe?
That steals your future while making you feel “comfortable.”
And comfort is the slowest killer of potential.

So if you’re afraid of trying…
flip the script.
Start asking yourself:
“What will it cost me if I don’t?”

Because staying the same…
That’s the REAL risk.
