Announcing @vareptheatre’s 2026-2027 Season! You can read more about the shows at via the link in our bio!⁣
⁣
“I selected this season to reflect what excites us most about live theatre right now: bold storytelling, pure joy, surprising spectacle, and unforgettable nights shared together. Featuring three plays that appeared on Broadway within the past three years, a high-energy musical celebration, an imaginative underwater adventure for young audiences, a brilliantly chaotic comedy, and the return of a beloved holiday tradition,” says Artistic Director Rick Hammerly, “we are thrilled for audiences of every generation to share in the excitement, laughter, and connection that only theatre can bring.”⁣

Meet the cast and creative team of @vareptheatre's upcoming production of THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG! ⁣
⁣
One of “the funniest plays Broadway has ever seen!” (@huffingtonpost_ ), this slapstick comedy asks if the show must go on - if the set is falling down around you. It’s opening night for the cast of Cornley Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor! But as soon as the curtain goes up, everything that can go wrong…does! Physical comedy, non-stop pandemonium, and a cast of increasingly frantic actors - it’s a night of theatre the audience will never forget - even if the cast wishes they did. ⁣

“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” - ⁣@dollyparton
⁣
IT’S DOLLY PARTON DAY!⁣
⁣
Across the world, communities are celebrating Sept. 25, a little wink to her iconic “9 to 5,” by honoring The Queen of Country, Dolly Parton.⁣
⁣
Dolly has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Back in the 1970s, my parents took us to see her perform live at the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, Virginia. I was lucky enough to experience her magic then, and I’ve been a fan ever since.⁣
⁣
Thank you, Dolly, for decades of music that have brought us joy, laughter, comfort, and memories. But even more than the music, thank you for showing us what it looks like to lead with kindness, generosity, humility, and heart.⁣
⁣
You’ve reminded generations of us that being a truly great human being is the most beautiful legacy of all.⁣
⁣
Happy Dolly Parton Day to a woman who has made the world a little brighter, one song and one act of kindness at a time. ⁣

⁣
Huge kudos to @directorpault and the entire TPTGW company for an opening weekend filled with impeccable comic timing, delightful chaos, and all the glorious things that can (and do!) go wrong.⁣
⁣
To the 1,300 audience members who joined us: thank you for laughing, cheering, and embracing the mayhem with us!⁣
⁣
And lastly, enormous gratitude to our dedicated @vareptheatre board members, donors, and supporters, whose presence and enthusiasm showed just how much this community believes in live theatre.⁣

Today, we hold close the memories of September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed that day.⁣
⁣
As we remember, we’re especially reflecting on the powerful message of community, compassion, and kindness at the heart of @vareptheatre’s recent production of COME FROM AWAY.⁣
⁣
Today in Gander, a reunion is taking place - attended by our Interim Managing Director, Lynn Stirrup, (herself, one of the “plane people”) - reminding us of the extraordinary way ordinary people opened their doors, their hearts, and their community to strangers in a time of unimaginable uncertainty.⁣
⁣
May we continue to remember, to come together, and to care for one another - not just today, but always. ⁣
