Moving on from this Red Sunflower painting. It’s been almost a year since I started. It almost completely fell apart but I think I stopped moments before total collapse. Might tweak a few things tomorrow morning because I can’t stop fussing w/ work until they leave the house or get buried away. Trying to get back into the habit of doing daily morning drawings in the sketchbook right after I wake up. Started this one the other day, finished this afternoon. Also I’m always aiming for more free form in drawing, intuition, going with whatever feels right vs just copying the photo reference…watching how something unfolds and building off of that vs having a super specific idea before going in. I’ve always dreamed of drawing like @kimjunggius he’d just sit down and draw the wildest thing you’ve ever seen without much hesitation. #dailydrawings *sorry if you read all that* by @rickski_____

Finished up this sign for my nephew! Direct mark up on wood panel cut out, no ai bullshit (obvs), added some of his line drawing characters, added some old cartoon characters that I love (That mouse might be the cutest thing I’ve ever drawn in my life). Spray paint, markers, correction pen and some hope that it would pull together in the end. Really stoked on the drawing of him, made up on the spot w/o any reference. Hopefully he finds this inspiring in some way. Glad I took my time with this and did it right. Nothing is worth rushing, especially when it’s for people you care about 💜 🖊️ what’s next? by @rickski_____
