Galería RGR returns to SP–Arte for its third participation with a curated selection that takes Jesús Rafael Soto as a point of departure, foregrounding his sustained investigation of vibration, structure, and the dissolution of form into space.

In dialogue, works by Carlos Cruz-Diez and Julio Le Parc unfold within the same broader field of experimentation, connecting with contemporary practices and reaffirming abstraction as an evolving language.

Featuring Jesús Rafael Soto, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Julio Le Parc, Ding Yi, Wang Yi, Daisuke Ohba, Felipe Pantone, Jeppe Hein, Francisco Muñoz, Teruri Yamawaki, Matthias Bitzer, Magali Lara, Hilma’s Ghost, Patrick Hamilton, Oswaldo Vigas, and Pedro Zylbersztajn.

For almost a decade, Galería RGR (@rgrart) has served as a vital bridge between Venezuela’s rich postwar artistic movements and broader Latin American creativity, situating these practices within international discourse.

At the helm of the gallery is young, dynamic art dealer Ricardo Gonzalez Ramos (@rickygr), who established RGR in 2018. In many ways, he represents a new generation of dealers who are empathetic, globally minded and rewriting parts of the traditional market playbook.

After more than five years without seeing each other, it was a true pleasure to reunite with Ding Yi in Shanghai and visit his always inspiring studio.
I had the honor of spending a few memorable days together, traveling to Kunming, visiting his remarkable new exhibition “The Winding Path” at the Contemporary Gallery Kunming and the Anthropology Museum of Yunnan University, and enjoying long meals filled with great conversations and ideas for future projects.
Many thanks @dingyiartstudio for the kind invitation.
