Many thoughts engendered after watching A NUMBER, a highly stimulating play by Caryl Churchill, presented by @thenecessarytheatre and @whynot.mnl starring @barguin and @j.c.santos who are reunited after their Gawad Buhay Award-winning RED but this time as father and son, or three sons rather, after the first one was cloned. Aside from the superb performances for all four characters (JC playing all 3 sons) this is a triumph for JC’s directorial debut, putting together a cohesive artistic piece featuring the work of visual artist @migueluy666 and sound artist Frankie Lalunio @_mudskipper in a spellbinding production that resonates with today’s urgent concerns of how technology can make us lose our agency, if not our dignity and humanity.
