🧠 Almost half of all Americans will have a mental health disorder within their lifetime.

Rates are even higher for those who identify as LGBTQIA+.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. No matter what you are facing, even if it seems ‘like nothing,’ you don’t have to do it alone. 🫂

📢 Calling all high school students! 📢

⭐ Only two spots remain for LEAP at Ridge 2 River! ⭐

Applications close on October 8th; our first session is on the 10th. 🗓️

Ready to join us? 🖱️ Learn more and apply at Ridge2River.org/LEAP. A flyer showing three photos of students participating in the LEAP program. Two photos show young men taking care of animal residents, and a third shows a young female helping at a community event. LEAP is a nationwide leadership program offered at farmed animal sanctuaries. The program includes an interactive humane education curriculum, hands-on workshops, time with our animal residents, and helping with care and infrastructure on our ridge.

Participants meet monthly as a group, with additional volunteer hours scheduled accordingly. by @ridge.2.river

A single slaughterhouse can legally kill 140 chickens every minute.

While their living conditions in industry are gloomy, chickens display signs of true happiness when given the chance to be free.

Chickens are among the most killed and consumed animals for food, but line speeds that are too fast and overcrowded living conditions are the norm for all industrially farmed animals.

Jasper, the rooster, loves a cozy, safe lap to rest on! 🧡

Many think roosters are “mean”, but typically they only show signs of “aggression” if they are scared and feel unsafe or if they are protecting their flock.

Roosters are born protectors of their flock and hens - it is one of their most important roles in life and something they take VERY seriously. So seriously, they will sacrifice their own life to save their companion. 🐓 by @ridge.2.river

We had a great afternoon getting our Pollinator Habitat in the ground! 🌱

Thanks to the @xercessociety and @derbycanyon natives for granting us the 44 beautiful plants. Pollinator habitats 🐝 help protect some of the most vulnerable, yet most important species on planet Earth. 🌎

A huge Thank you to all the volunteers who helped get all of these plants in the ground, while having a good time!

We had the most gorgeous day to be outside planting and creating a safe space for another of Earth’s living beings. 🐝 🦋🌿 by @ridge.2.river
