Sad Dads Book Club + Surviving New York Presents: Meet the Author — Liz Riggs

Our next featured author for Sad Dads Book Club Presents: An Evening of Literary Conversation is Nashville-based writer Liz Riggs, whose debut novel Lo Fi captures the tension between ambition, memory, intimacy, and creative identity with a voice that feels both raw and deeply self-aware.
Set against the backdrop of music culture and emotional reinvention, Lo Fi moves through the complicated spaces between art and performance, longing and self-destruction, connection and isolation. Riggs writes with a sharp observational style that feels immediate and lived-in, building a novel that explores what happens when people try to create meaning through relationships, music, and the versions of themselves they present to the world.
Liz holds an MFA in Fiction from New York University, and her work has appeared in The Atlantic, Bon Appétit, American Songwriter, MTV, and others. Lo Fi is out now via Riverhead Books.

On Thursday, June 18 at Liz’s Book Bar, Liz will join Katie Yee, Sam Sussman, Megan Nolan, and Julian Tepper for a live panel moderated by Brandon Stosuy.
Expect an open conversation about process, structure, storytelling, and the ideas underneath these books, followed by audience Q&A.
