Running is weird. Miserable while you’re doing it. Euphoric when you’re done. 🤝My toxic trait is forgetting how hard it felt the second I press “Finish”… and somehow already wanting to do it again. Please tell me it’s not just me? by @riinee

5 days in Uluwatu 🌴Trained, ate, chilled, explored a little and maybe got one shade darker 😜 Also clearly became obsessed with the Instagram “flash” filter, so the whole post had to match.Another 5 days of Bali ahead, but this time in Nusa Dua — somewhere I’ve actually never been before. Writing this while we’re driving there now, so let’s see what the next part of the trip brings 🤍 by @riinee

What do runners do when there’s no next race on the calendar? Here I am in Bali, in the hotel gym, doing my little post-marathon recovery runs because apparently I don’t know how to fully switch off 🌴😅The post-marathon blues haven’t kicked in yet… probably because my brain is busy being in a new place. But I can’t stop thinking — what’s next?Usually, I always have something planned. Another race, another goal, another thing to chase. But this time I have absolutely nothing locked in.So please help a girl out. What’s everyone training for next? What races are on your radar? Road, trail, ultra, overseas, something completely random… I want to know what’s out there.Drop your next race, dream race or wild recommendation below 👇 by @riinee

Gold Coast Marathon 2026 - the long version, so grab your coffee 😂I don’t even know where to start with this one.A PB, a podium, first Queenslander and a day that honestly surprised me in every possible way.The build up was not smooth. There were plenty of body dramas, doubts, messy moments and a lot of “will it hold?” conversations. So going into race day, I really tried not to put a number on it. I knew that if I started chasing numbers too early, my head would go there and probably ruin the whole thing. So the plan was simple: run smart, trust the work, trust the body and see what the day gives. And somehow… the day gave me something pretty special. One of the biggest things I’m proud of from Sunday is that I trusted my gut.Having special drinks on course is an absolute luxury and I’m definitely not complaining about it, but I’ve always been a little paranoid about relying on bottles. Last year, two of my bottles weren’t there and Kyle was kind enough to share his gels and drinks with me.So this year my brain was like: not again girl. We are carrying the whole lunchbox. And that is exactly what I did.Thank god for Wyn Republic pockets, because my whole race nutrition plan was basically hidden in my outfit 😂Race kit details, because the outfit did a lot more than just look good.I wore Wyn Republic kit - the “on call” bra and PR shorts 3.0 and honestly, those pockets worked overtime.I had 5 gels hidden in the front pocket of the bra, 3 gels stacked in the side pockets of the shorts, 3 serves of Precision Hydration electrolyte tablets and one CrampFix tucked away in the back pocket just in case.So yes, I basically had a full buffet hidden on my body 😂And I’m so grateful I did. Beth McKenzie and the Wyn Republic team have been so kind to me over the years and I honestly take my hat off to you. I’ve worn your kit religiously for years and Sunday was another reminder of why.Big thank you and big hugs. The pockets saved me.The bottle situation on Sunday was… interestingAllie’s bottles were on table 4, mine were on table 2. The plan was that she would go first and I would go after, so we didn’t crash into each other.First drink st by @riinee

2:36:19 — PB.Quick update before I disappear to La La Land for a very well earned drink… longer recap coming later.I honestly did not expect this today. The lead up was messy, the body had plenty of dramas and it was very much a “will it hold?” situation. But somehow, it did.Marathons are always a rollercoaster, but today the lows weren’t as horrible as I expected and I felt strong. Even better, I got to share so many of the kms with @allieeemay who absolutely smashed her debut marathon. Big things ahead for that girl. And to make the day even sweeter we ended up 1st and 2nd Queenslanders. Good day for @kylesruncoaching I’d say. 😮‍💨🔥I’m so stoked and still trying to understand how this happened.“If you can look up, you can get up.” — Les BrownThat quote stuck with me through this build and today I kept getting up.Now time for drinks, being human again and probably a hangover. Fully deserved 🍻 by @riinee

We are ready… 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️Thank you @beforeyouspeakcoffee for the morning shakeout run. My first ever proper shakeout run I’ve attended and it was such a good vibe.Obviously @allieeemay and I made it slightly more us and added a few little efforts at the end, just the two of us 😉So lovely meeting everyone and soaking up the marathon weekend buzz. Good luck to everyone racing on Saturday and Sunday. I hope you all have the best day out there. And @allieeemay what a ride the last 8 months have been. Training side by side with you has been such a gift. Early mornings, shared kms, chats, laughs and little check ins when life felt heavy.I’ve wanted a girl next to me in training for so long and the universe really delivered with you 🥹Can’t wait to see you fly on Sunday. As marathon week begins, this is the mindset I’m choosing. It’s so easy to compare ourselves to someone else’s finish time, training block, talent or journey. But we rarely see the full story behind those numbers. Different chapters. Different circumstances. Different strengths. Different battles. If I had to describe myself in training, it would be this: consistently disciplined. Not perfect. Not always confident. Not always flying. But consistent enough to keep showing up and disciplined enough to keep choosing the work even when it wasn’t easy.On Sunday, I won’t be racing anyone else’s story.I’ll be racing the version of me who started this journey months ago.The version who doubted herself. The version who got injured. The version who kept showing up anyway.Be here now.Say yes to the moment. The sun will come up tomorrow regardless.Nobody will remember my finish time as much as I’ll remember how I chose to show up.Me vs. me.Always. 🖤 by @riinee

I ran my first marathon at Gold Coast in 2014, and I’ve been coming back ever since. This race holds a special place in my heart - it was my home turf debut and 12 years on, it still gives me that same feeling at the start line.Next Sunday I get to lace up again and be part of this incredible festival. Watching it grow over the years - the energy, the organisation, the community - has been something really special to witness. To the team behind it all: thank you. You have always looked after us so well and I cannot thank you enough. Wishing you the very best week ahead as you get ready to put on something amazing 🩷Swipe to see what 12 years of showing up actually looks like. ➡️2014 | 2:57:10The one that started it all.Wired earphones — because wireless didn’t really exist for runners yet. Brooks Ravenna on my feet, a daily training shoe, not a race shoe. I didn’t know the difference yet. And a Lorna Jane belt that I was absolutely convinced was practical. Looking back, I shake my head. But I was just a woman who believed she could run under three hours on relatively little training. And somehow, I nearly did.2:57:10. No hiccups. No wall. Pure naive confidence and one of the best races of my life. I hit the runner’s high and stayed there the entire 42.2km. So in the zone that I didn’t even notice the Lorna Jane belt destroying my skin underneath it. The chafing only revealed itself after I crossed the finish line an angry, belt-sized welt that took a very long time to forgive me. The pouch had basically tattooed itself onto my stomach.10/10 would not recommend. But I’ve been chasing that runner’s high at every start line ever since.2015 | 3:15:35Still in wired earphones — different pair, same era. Still in the Brooks Ravenna. No belt — that lesson was learned. And somehow, with more training and more experience under my belt (figuratively this time), I ran 19 minutes slower. This is the part of running nobody warns you about. Your second Gold Coast Marathon is often harder than your first. Your body knows what’s coming. The novelty is gone. The adrenaline is different. And 19 minutes is not a small gap — that’s nearly a full kilometre per hour slower by @riinee
