It’s been really frustrating not having any answers after six years of this. But I’m not losing hope or giving up.

After a sudden collapse in 2020, I developed severe muscle tightness and problems with my speech, coordination, and fine motor skills especially in my hands and arms.

I’ve had countless appointments, tests, scans, and have seen more specialists than I can count. I still don’t have an answer that explains why I’m experiencing these symptoms, but I’m working on getting stronger, trying new things, and still showing up. I may not have answers yet, but I’m not giving up! by @rileypiley

Six years ago today I fell unconscious and my whole life changed. Since then I’ve been searching for answers for why I no longer have full function of my speech and upper body. I’ve been to countless doctors and specialists without any success and want to share my journey in hopes to connect with others going through anything similar, or who may have ideas on how I can heal. Follow along as I try to find answers and hopefully inspire a few people along the way to keep going. Regardless of my circumstances, I’m choosing to move forward with my life and live it to the fullest. by @rileypiley

Out of all my health issues, my speech is definitely the one that I struggle with the most.
But last weekend, I spoke at the Utah Area YSA Conference!
The miracle of total healing that I’ve been praying for hasn’t come in the way I thought, but I’m recognizing healing in different ways and this is for sure some type of miracle!
Thanks @natalieswright28 for inviting me to get out of my comfort zone and tell my story!

If you would’ve told 20 year old me that this is what turning 30 would look like, I wouldn’t have believed you. But life has a funny way of challenging you like that.
I’ve decided to challenge it right back and keep making the most of my life by living it to the fullest anyway, even though I need a little more help! 🩵
Plus you know what they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right?? 😉 💪🏻

Here’s the update you’ve all been waiting for and probably didn’t know you wanted. In September 2020 I got up one morning, walked a few steps and fell unconscious most likely due to a seizure. Since then I’ve developed slurred speech, loss of fine motor skills in my hands and arms among other symptoms. I’ve been to a bajillion appointments and done endless tests trying to figure it all out and have been diagnosed with Functional neurological disorder.

This basically means that nothing will show up on a MRI or any scan but there is some sort of problem with the communication from my brain to my body. How or why this happened we still haven’t figured out.

Life is a wild ride! These past few years have been full of really low lows but also really high highs and I’m so grateful for everyone that helps me along the way! Thank you for being there for me and for helping me have the best of times during this crazy adventure! 🫶🏾
