🚨NEW MUSIC OUT EVERYWHERE!🚨

“Emotional Absentee” featuring @newbodyelectric is out everywhere you stream your tunes. This is the final single release before our new album—LADY ON THE BIKE—which drops on May 9th!

“The moral of ‘Emotional Absentee’ is that when someone shows you who they are, pay attention, and when they tell you they’ve changed, run,” shares Ringdown. “We decided to collaborate with New Body Electric on this because we love the sound and vibe of their music. We’ve played shows together a few times in Portland, OR, and became friends. The band is fronted by our wonderful sound engineer and co-producer for our album, Aaron K Peterson. His partner in both life and creative projects, Leah Vautar, is the drummer and also helped shape some of the sound of this album. Evan Smoker plays electric guitar and bass.”

Danni Lee Parpan (lead vocal)
Leah Vautar (lead vocal, drums)
Aaron K Peterson (synth, drum programming)
Evan Smoker (electric guitar, bass)
Caroline Shaw (viola)

“’Ghost’ explores the weariness and anxiety of being a fully feeling human who is forced to live in our modern world and its tech-saturated chaos,” @Ringdownmusic’s @DanniLeeP and @CarolineAdelaideShaw say of their second Nonesuch single, out now. “This is especially isolating in the world of internet dating, where the spotty texting tempo and normalized behavior of ‘ghosting’ someone can feel crushing. We used the clunky pedal sounds from a vintage piano as a heartbeat throughout the song. To us, this represents the yearning for connection beyond technology.”

We’ve been sitting with this song for 2 years and cannot wait to share it with you. It’s cozy. It’s loving. It’s super vulnerable. Quite possibly the most intimate thing we have ever made/will make!? We hope you’ll listen and think about all the things in this messy world that you love. Xoxo C & D taken in Portland, Oregon by @ringdownmusic
