My sweet baby boy. I miss you more than anything. There isn’t enough time in the day or words in the dictionary that can express the love I had and will always have for you. The way you left this earth was so sudden and unfair. I keep replaying the moment I found you lying in the hallway and how helpless I felt. I feel so guilty that I wasn’t holding you when you took your last breath and that you were alone. The vet said your condition was undetectable, especially in young cats like you, and there was nothing I could have done differently. The vet said your heart was internally too thick, but I know that just means your heart was SO full of love. You were the only one who survived your litter— you were a fighter since day one and I know the universe had big plans for you. You came into my life and healed a piece of me that I didn’t even know was broken. You made Isis a big sister and I saw a side of her I had never seen before. She became so affectionate, protective and maternal. She misses you, too. She has been going to all of your spots and legit meows for hours. She has been playing with all your favorite toys and keeps waiting for you to come pounce on her. Sleeping without your cuddles is hard. Not waking up to you chomping on my hair is hard. Opening the windows and not hearing you running from wherever you were is hard. Walking to/from the parking garage and not seeing you looking down at me is hard. I haven’t rode my peloton since you left. It’s not the same without you there next to me. The last time I rode it, you jumped into my arms. It’s like you knew it would be the last time. Every piece of you, from the spots on your gums to the stripes on your tail, are etched into my memory. I can still hear your chirps and loud purrrrs. I can still feel your giant webbed paws making biscuits on my tummy. Thank you for sharing your beautiful soul with me and Isis for 5.5 years. No amount of time with you would have ever been long enough. I’ll love you forever. I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living, my Bonezy Boy you’ll be. 🧡🌈🕊️ by @rio_tanika

10 years ago today, I officially became a cat mom. I was working an adoption event at PetSmart in Pasadena and I saw this perfect creature in a cage. In an instant, my life changed and a giant void in my heart was filled.

Isis was the Egyptian goddess of love, healing, fertility, magic and the moon. The name couldn’t have been more fitting for my girl. There is nothing in this world I wouldn’t do for her. I couldn’t have asked for a better big sister to Bonez. She is my heart, my soul, my moon and my stars.
