This weekend, @rise_vtec and @bigmacvtak head to Watkins Glen International for Summer Apex, marking GRIDLIFE’s long-awaited return to one of North America’s most legendary road courses. It’ll also be the first time both drivers tackle the Glen, making for an exciting weekend as they take on the ClubTR field. The last time we were here was in 2023, when @ezeagul1_r crushed his personal best and earned P2 in Street Class.

Beyond the time attack competition, Summer Apex brings together everything that makes GRIDLIFE unique, from wheel-to-wheel racing and drifting to live music, a massive car show, and one of the best atmospheres of the season. We can’t wait to experience it all and see what the Glen has in store. See you in the paddock! 🏁

This is it, folks! Let’s make this last one count!

We are gearing up for @gridlifeofficial Summer Apex event at @wgi1948 🥳 One of the most iconic tracks in North America. The ACUiTY Civic is almost ready to rip; a quick fluids change, 🥜 and 🔩 check, and she will be loaded up for the last event of the season!

This event will be all about having fun on and off track with the homies and the Gridlife family! I’m so looking forward to having a good time and jamming alongside the best Artists’ lineup Gridlife has arguably ever hosted!

Who will I see out there? Pull up and let’s have some fun together!

A special thank you goes to @acuityinstruments for giving me the honor and absolute pleasure to represent the brand over the course of my journey in Track Battle. The Gridlife paddock won’t be the same without the Purple Tents and straight up killer drivers that have been part of the team these past years. I will forever cherish the victories, the losses, but more importantly the memories we made together.

Big shoutout to all my other partners that have helped me build this absolute monster of a ClubTR car: @fortuneautousa @gprauto @saikospeed @dannytrandtr @lavignemotorsports @tdt.travis @falkentire @konigwheelsusa @procarinnovations @honed_developments @asrparts @unit2fab @hasport_performance by @rise_vtec

Midwest Festival delivered another memorable weekend at Gingerman Raceway! @rise_vtec showed incredible pace all weekend in his K-swapped EG Civic, consistently running at the front of the ClubTR field after laying down a 1:37.9 right off the trailer. A few mechanical hurdles and a tough break during the podium sprint kept him just outside the podium at P4, but the speed was there from start to finish.

@bigmacvtak continued chipping away at his personal best in the DC2 Integra, despite also battling several mechanical challenges throughout the competition weekend, improving on his previous Gingerman pace from a few seasons ago. He settled into P5 by the end of the slippery Podium sprint session on Sunday.

@smitholene’s GE8 Fit also fought through its own challenges, running much of the weekend down a cylinder while still working its way into podium contention before ultimately finishing P4 in the wet during the Sundae Cup podium sprint.

Beyond our core team, it was awesome to see so many ACUiTY-equipped cars throughout the paddock putting down competitive lap times all weekend too. Midwest Festival remains a team favorite not just for the racing, but also for the people, the fun festival atmosphere, and the opportunity to spend a weekend with fellow enthusiasts who share our passion for grassroots racing.

We’re excited for our next stop in the race schedule, Summer Apex at Watkins Glen! See you there July 24-26th 🏁.

MWF ‘26 Recap!
It has become a tradition for us to not win this event whether it’s for a mechanical failure or driver’s failure.

Despite leading the class all weekend long and still being the only ClubTR car going sub 1:38’s fairly consistently during the week, a bad judgment call cost us a chance at the podium finish.
We quickly managed to put a banker lap of 1:37.900 right off the trailer on Friday morning. The car had great pace for a potential record reset, but traffic impeded us from resetting our own record. Same thing in session 2, still running consistently 37s. Session 3 was the hottest of the weekend, and we went about a second slower.
We didn’t get much track time on Saturday due to some minor issues: session 4 the throttle cable bracket snapped on the out lap. Special thanks to @k.hunter_86 for welding it up and giving us a chance to go back out. Session 5 we noticed the alternator wasn’t charging, so @eric_kutil_racing came in clutch with an OEM replacement. Session 6 was the last session of the day in the hot afternoon and we still managed a 37.9; a good indicator that would help us for the sprint.
We didn’t go out in session 7 due to rain, but we had put a brand new set of stickers just in case, the night prior. We waited and waited to see if the rain would stop for the sprint. We made a bad judgment call to leave the stickers on knowing that the track wasn’t super hot and there may have been some puddles on track. Based on personal experience, the new stickers have never favored us right off the bat. They take about 3 full laps to come up to temp, especially the rears. With no heat cycle in them, we went out for the sprint and on the outlap I noticed the car was sliding all over the place with no lateral grip. I still tried to put some heat in the tires for the first flyer lap knowing that I had to put all my effort in the last lap of the sprint. Unfortunately, in the T7/T8 transition, I dipped the rear right tire right past the curb at T8 causing me to lose the rear. The car is usually pretty good in that quick weight transfer section, but the lack of lateral grip bit us in the rear.
P4 in the sprint and that’s a wrap! by @rise_vtec
