This past Wednesday marked a special milestone for our 10-week UCR RISE scholars as they shared the research, ideas, and discoveries they’ve spent the summer developing. 💙✨

From the first questions to the final presentations, these 10 weeks were filled with learning, collaboration, challenges, and meaningful growth. The symposium gave our scholars the opportunity to share not only what they discovered, but how far they’ve come along the way.

We are incredibly grateful to the faculty, research mentors, families, peers, and supporters who helped make this experience possible.

Congratulations to our 10-week scholars on an amazing summer of research, and on reaching this well-deserved milestone! 💙✨ taken in UC Riverside by @riseucrprogram

Yesterday, we celebrated the culmination of our inaugural 8-week community college–UCR RISE summer partnership, 8 weeks of curiosity, research, teamwork, and growth.

The symposium was more than a presentation; it was a celebration of partnership, perseverance, and possibility.

Thank you to our professors, mentors, community college partners, families, and everyone who supported our scholars along the way.

To our scholars: 8 weeks may be the end of this experience, but it’s only the beginning of what comes next. Keep asking questions & taking chances.

We can’t wait to see where you go next!💙✨ taken in UC Riverside by @riseucrprogram

Checking out the Poster Sessions at the 2026 Research In Science & Engineering (RISE) Symposium. This is the first year we have a RISE 8 Week Symposium, which is comprised of community college students and other 4-year university scholars!

RISE is a summer research experience designed for continuing UCR undergraduates, incoming UCR transfer students, community college students, and other 4-year university visiting scholars. Participants work under the supervision of a faculty mentor on a cutting-edge research project. The program features 1:1 faculty mentoring, professional development opportunities, an immersive experience in the UCR research community, and an undergraduate symposium.

Join us for the RISE/MARC 10 Week Symposium on August 26, 2026! Visit rise.ucr.edu or @riseucrprogram for more information.

Science happens outside the lab too. At our second RISE social, scholars swapped stories with peers and faculty over lunch, strengthening bonds across the research community. Swipe for a peek inside ➡️ by @riseucrprogram

What will humans look like in the year 3026? We treated our RISE students to a tea/coffee party, then saw the sketches of what our scholars predicted as the best adaptations for the future. taken in University of California, Riverside by @riseucrprogram

Every challenge is an opportunity to grow.

The RISE ropes course was more than just an obstacle course, it was an experience built on teamwork, communication, and the courage to step outside of your comfort zone.

Watching our scholars encourage one another, face challenges together, and celebrate every accomplishment was a reminder that growth happens one step at a time.

Here’s to building confidence, stronger connections, and a community that rises together. 💙✨ by @riseucrprogram
