I think I may still be dreaming…
I had a crystalline time being part of the music video for Conspiracy, by beautiful sage, contemplative mage, @saulwilliams.

***Please click the link in my bio, like and leave comments on the YouTube video, if you feel it.***

How powerful this alignment that seemed to be celestially arranged before fluttering from the heavens right into my jungle home/studio. It started with a call from Saul, an invitation to invocation…then a meet up with the master plan MAN, Director/DP @cleonarrey …and next, to my surprise and delight, I stepped into my living room and found majestic movement maven @qw3nga who I’ve dreamed of working with for years now. Friends old and new, craft masters all, it was a family reunion! Or maybe a mirrored nine night (the Jamaican community ritual for the newly departed), except instead of burying, we raised the dead - in a rite of yellow things, rainbow gleams, the whispered will and pulsating power of the Poet to get that blood flowing🩸!!!

Thank you for allowing me to share my Spiritual Liberation Tech.

This track, the beats, and coming album, Leap Life…bone rattling.

Today is the final day to see my work on display at @foyer_la where I participated in a group show, A Project on Intuition.
I’ve shared here images of the work entitled x8x (pronounced xxxxxxxx or x-eight, for short). Working with gallerist/curator Connie Walsh & co-curator Sarah Seelinger @circleofleaves was an experience, both lovely and edifying. I recommend you go to Silverlake today to check out all of the amazing artists in addition to my two pieces. Otherwise, stay tapped in for the next or pay me a laboratory visit. I’ll regale you with tales and tell you all about my rapidly developing Spiritual Liberation Tech…
ASSEMBLAGE
Foraged furniture (Leimert Park, Cherrywood), Palm Sheath (from the foraged and oiled collection of André 3stacks), wax, black mesh, charcoal, repurposed pomegranate & pooja tings (gathered and activated with @rajniperera), pinned and threaded succulent garlands (from Mommy’s backyard and pin cushion), polished gemstone (gifted by master jeweler @liza_vosbig), bugs (gathered in Leimert and gifted by my day one boo, @muckelme), desiccated black birds of paradise (foraged in the Jungles).

Consider this my version of solar return magic…rich velvety cake, slathered in sweet icing, blowing out my bubbles and letting my wishes rise, before popping my truest heart’s desires right into reality (or whatever this is). Happy birthday to my very first best friend, forever and ever after, my Day One!!!

One day I’ll tell you about how I rocketed out to the furthest reaches of the cosmos and found only an exact double of…me. Excited for the life that unfolds now that we’ve made amends and move through life as total allies, friends. Cheers to the delicious double, a Unified Will, and an In Accord field!!!

Thank you to all of you who wished me a happy 47th birthday and celebrated my life with me on and around July 24th, 2026. So gwaan hold a vibe and give tonx fi life! It is just as delicate as being juicy, enfleshed, just as shimmeringly ephemeral as catching a roving rainbow hued bubble. Delight. 🫧🫧🫧

This is a bit of BTS taken by move master @qw3nga while taking a break on the set of @saulwilliams video for “Conspiracy”, the initial track from the forthcoming album Leap Life, directed by @cleonarrey. Link is in my bio. More to come soon after this quick birthday break. by @risharox

Marisha Roxanne Scott in collaboration with Saul Williams Meets Carlos Niño and Friends At TreePeople on October 2, 2025

In the rubble of the online space, a pulsing lifeline has emerged of current information, historical contextualization, amplification of Palestinian voices, exultation of liberation and sheer humanity. Saul Williams is his name.

He and his wizarding kin, also my dear friend, Carlos Niño have crafted a spell for freedom, Saul Williams Meets Carlos Niño & Friends At TreePeople, recorded 12/18/24. In a ritual of return, they gathered again a year later under the LA night sky, plump moon and trees, treating us to sound healing, poetry, Assata and liberation lessons. I had the profound pleasure of joining them. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Visual Artist/Writer who identifies as a Jazz Musician. So to do my thing, set within a constellation of powerful live musicians (Carlos Niño, Saul Williams, Aaron Shaw, Andres Renterias) is to be in heaven.

Deep gratitude to young Araminta, Assata and all freedom fighters for showing us the way.

“The midnight sky and the silent stars have been the witnesses of your devotion to freedom and of your heroism.” ~ a letter from Frederick Douglass to Harriet Tubman penned August 29, 1868.

PS - Can you believe that Saul Williams quoted me? “Marisha says, ‘Spiritual Liberation Tech’”, he said. Though set within a nightmare, life is merrily, verily, but a dream…

Thank you,
Marisha Roxanne Scott

Special thanks to Jasmine Summer Lee for all the assistance and to @iamhaizehawke and @nailahporter for sitting in the splash zone, for providing vital sisterly support and for the captures.

CORRECTION: Apologies. Clearly on the tiles above I am referring to scholars, Saidiya Hartman and Fred Moten. Autocorrect got your girl. by @risharox

BELATED BIRTHDAY WISH

45, friends
O intimate friends
Still
in blue mourning
Still
in the dark mirror
Still
in steel prayer
To She who swirls nearer
Praying so wetly
So redly
So Ready
