Snippets of Odia festivals.
01 - 'Ratha Jatra' ( The chariot festival )

During the end of 'Ratha Jatra', Lord Jagannatha returns home with his siblings, after a week long vacation at their aunt's place.
.
The only catch is that he had forgotten to tell his wife, Goddess Lakshmi about this trip. So she is definitely not happy.
.
Upon trying to enter the temple, Lord Jagannath is stopped for a heated exchange between the couple. This ritual is also referred to as 'Lakhmi Narayana Kali'.
.
It symbolises the universality of domestic life. Also Rasagola never stops slaying.

The first week of May was full of chaos and fun.
I pitched my animated short (WIP) titled, 'Khatti' at WAVES India Summit at Mumbai ( @wavesindiasummit ) as part of the Animation Filmmakers Competition organised by @dancingatoms1.
.
Immense gratitude to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting @mib_india for organising the event and @dancingatoms1 for bringing together an incredibly talented group of animators and storytellers under one roof with whom I had the privilege to interact. Congratulations to all of them.
.
A special shoutout to my homies from @nid_ahmedabad ,
@m_art__and___ @bhagyashree_satapathy_ @arundhati._.i and @san_maryyy , who are funny, so full of energy, brimming with talent, and made everyday special.
.
Hoping to see this platform grow for the indie animation scene in India and to keep building this community.

I haven't grown up with the songs of Akshaya Mohanty. I heard this song a few years ago and it felt like a nostalgia for a moment I never witnessed.

I love to experiment with the Odia folk visual styles and still wanted to create a cinematic shot.
P.S - Learning to composite a little :)
