Throughout my career working across cultures and global organizations, I’ve learned that the real test of any people strategy is not how well it’s designed, but how it’s experienced.

Some achievements belong to an individual.
Others reflect the values behind a business. 🌎

In 2024, @janacheza was honored by @wearewerc with the Meritorious Service Award.

Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate another milestone: the Distinguished Service Award, recognizing continued service and contribution to the global mobility community.

But for us, this story is about much more than awards.

Long before RISO Global existed, volunteering with WERC was already part of Jana’s professional journey, contributing time and expertise, learning from others, exchanging perspectives, building relationships, and helping strengthen the industry that has shaped so much of her career.

And when RISO was created, that same philosophy naturally became part of who we are.

We believe expertise grows when it is shared.
Communities become stronger when we contribute to them.
And business can, and should, create value beyond business.

Volunteering, giving back, connecting people and actively contributing to the communities we belong to are part of the values we want RISO Global to carry forward.

Today, we came to the end of a 4-week parenting journey together with @interootsbytatipaes @tatipaes

And somehow, it feels like the beginning of something too.

This programme is deeply personal to me.

Years ago, during one of my own international relocations, I was 34 weeks pregnant and preparing to start a new life in Malaysia. I was becoming a mother while becoming an expat all over again — and I wish I had had a space to pause, prepare emotionally and make sense of everything I was carrying.

That experience stayed with me.

It became one of the reasons I created Relocating Abroad with Kids — to offer families the space I once wished I had. This program is available for all the families relocating with @riso.global because @riso.global recognizes that there is an emotional side of the relocation that wasn’t yet fulfilled.

Today, as this 4-week programme comes to an end with my client, I’m reminded that the end of a programme doesn’t mean the end of the journey.

A new country.
A new chapter.
A new opportunity to grow together as a family.

One family. One move. Very different experiences.

What feels exciting to one person may feel overwhelming to another.

What feels like a new beginning may also feel like a goodbye.

For children especially, the emotional impact of relocation can sometimes be harder to see.

Behind the excitement, there may be loss, uncertainty, longing and the need to belong.

That’s why every family member’s experience matters.

Together, at @riso.global and @growingtogether_parenting we are bringing two perspectives to the same journey, looking beyond the logistics of relocation and making space for what the family is feeling through the move.

Resistance. Clinginess. Big emotions. Changes in behaviour.

These are often just the visible part.

Beneath them, a child may be navigating a whole new world of questions:

Where do I belong now?
Who can I connect with?
Am I really safe here?

Relocation isn't only about adapting to a new home, school or country.

For children, it's also about finding their place in a world that suddenly feels unfamiliar.

And they don't only need time to adjust.

They need someone who can see beyond the behaviour, get curious about what it might be communicating, and help them feel safe, connected and understood.

This is at the heart of the collaboration between @growingtogetherparenting & @riso.global, bringing the emotional experience of children and families into the relocation conversation.

Because sometimes, the behaviour is the message.

Six months of RISO GLOBAL. 🌎

There was a moment when I questioned whether my way of doing business was simply too naive.

I wondered if there was really space in this industry for a business built on trust, relationships, human connection and doing things differently.

For a moment, I even considered leaving the industry I had dedicated so much of my life to.

Then I realized:
There is a space for this.
And there are clients who need it.

Six months into entrepreneurship, I’m learning that building something of your own is challenging in ways you never fully anticipate.

But what I didn’t expect was to feel so deeply rewarded this early in the journey.

Not just by the numbers, but by the people behind them.

The conversations.
The trust.
The partnerships.
The clients who chose to believe in what we are building.

So today, I want to say thank you!

To everyone who believed, invested, supported, opened a door, made an introduction, trusted RISO, or simply cheered us on, you have been part of these first six months.

This is only the beginning!

And I’m more certain than ever that there is room for a more human way of doing global business.

People. Connections. Excellence.

When does a family start to feel a new country like home?

It takes time. But time alone isn’t enough.

Behind every international move, there is a family navigating change. And for children, that change can show up in ways we don’t always immediately recognise.

Sometimes, challenging behaviour is simply a child saying:

“I’m trying to make sense of all this change.”
