AI is advancing rapidly, from machines that perceive the world to digital twins that reflect ourselves. The opportunities are significant, but the risks of misuse are real.

At Beyond the Horizon, @RitaArrigo shared a clear-eyed view of what comes next: AI as a tool we shape and take responsibility for, not something that replaces us.

Drawing on her experience from the early internet to responsible innovation today, Rita showed why curiosity, intention and human leadership must remain central as technology grows more powerful.

Rethink your role in shaping AI. Watch the full YouTube talk via link in bio.

We wondered what it was like back then 1994, and I was on Babes on the Web, inspiring @rachelgriffithsofficial in @murielswedding , and being a Wed DJ on Royal Exhibition Centre- an amazing era! by @ritaarrigo

🤖 AI is getting a body. How will Australia put it to work?

Join me at the Unitree Robotics Australia Summit 2026 for two days exploring physical AI, robotics and the future of work.

Hear from Felix Shang, Dr Tirthankar Bandyopadhyay, Joshua Joseph, Belinda Dunstan, Dana Kulić, Ian Sinclair, John McGiffin and Jeff Bethell—bringing perspectives from Unitree, CSIRO, Xsens, universities and industry.

🥂 Then keep the conversation going at the Xsens Summit Dinner at Oakwood Premier Melbourne, from 6pm.

Great connections and a fireside conversation:
“From Human Motion to Humanoid Intelligence”
How do robots learn from the way we move?

Proud to bring this together with C.R. Kennedy’s Geospatial Division, AI Native Futures and Unitree Robotics, with Xsens as our Human Motion & Humanoid Learning Partner.

📅 11–12 November 2026
📍 C.R. Kennedy, Port Melbourne

A day at Parliament House discussing Australia’s future and sharing the AI panel with a humanoid robot. At Australian Industry Group’s National Forum, “Industry Meets Parliament”, the big questions were productivity, competitive industries and opportunity for the next generation. Having a humanoid alongside us made the conversation about physical AI tangible and igniting much joy in both the dancing ability and conversation. ❓ What could it mean for inspecting infrastructure, handling repetitive tasks and reducing people’s exposure to dangerous work?
📣 My message was simple: the shift happens when we stop asking, “What can this tool do?” and start asking, “How should the work change?”
🤖 Imagine a robot inspecting an asset, generative AI helping interpret the findings, and an AI agent arranging approved maintenance. Now we are redesigning a workflow with people accountable for the outcome.
Through @ainativefutures we help organisations make that transition. With Chisholm Institute, we are developing an immersive AI learning experience that brings industry, educators and learners together to explore physical AI, robotics and the future of work. Leaders bring their people with them. They invest in AI-native training, create opportunities to experience and challenge the technology, and measure whether the work actually improves. Buying AI is a procurement decision. Becoming AI-native is a leadership decision. Across the wider forum, three themes stood out:
🇦🇺 Opportunity and industrial capability. Anthony Albanese emphasised collaboration and regional relationships. Angus Taylor focused on restoring hope and competitiveness. Andrew Hastie challenged how Australia translates its resource strengths into industrial capability.
⚡Energy and investment. Views differed sharply: Albanese discussed the energy transition and gas; Pauline Hanson called for cheaper power and rejection of climate targets; Allegra Spender connected reducing regulatory burdens with care for people and the environment.
📈 Productivity. Paul Bloxham highlighted weak productivity performance. Cherelle Murphy explored uneven job creation across the economy especially in government funded sectors by @ritaarrigo

We brought a humanoid robot to a conference in Lorne 🤖🌊

Meet Unitree R1, helping me tell the story of safer, smarter cities at VPELA.

Imagine robots inspecting dangerous sites before we send people in. Now imagine their evidence shaping a planning or safety decision.

Who checks it? Who’s accountable?

When AI gets a body, digital decisions have physical consequences.

Would you send a robot in first? 👇
Off to Canberra next we are coming Parliament House

Join me for an evening of AI, big questions and good company at Melbourne’s @kelvinclubinc. On Wednesday 28 October, I’ll be sitting down with Chris Cormack for the first Emergent Futures conversation, exploring how AI is changing everyday life, our relationships with technology and the choices ahead.
The Kelvin Club is a special setting for this conversation. Established in 1865 and tucked away in Melbourne’s CBD, it combines historic charm with a welcoming spirit. Its longstanding connections to science and engineering reflect a deeper purpose: bringing people together to exchange ideas, explore different perspectives and build connections.
With warm timber interiors, comfortable seating and an intimate bar setting, it offers a relaxed, comfortable ambience where we can settle in and give the conversation room to unfold. Perhaps it will be the beginning of the first AI Lounge!
We’ll explore what AI means for how we live and work, where trust matters, and how we can shape a future that serves people. Bring your curiosity, your questions and a friend.
It promises to be a fantastic night: thoughtful conversation, fresh perspectives and plenty of opportunity to connect, with drinks and supper options available.
📅 Wednesday 28 October 2026 | 6:00–8:30 pm
📍 Kelvin Club, 14–30 Melbourne Place, Melbourne
🤝 Members and guests welcome
Reserve your place: https://lnkd.in/dzr9AJAU
I’d love to see you there.

Honoured to be a finalist at Women in AI Australia. Being part of this community has provided the most incredible education of what women are achieving in AI. Starting as a judge in 2022, 2023 & 2024. It is incredible to be nominated for my work in Communicating AI. I am passionate about Women in AI as Women must shape systems that shape our lives. What an epic night stepping inside the newly renovated Luna Palace at Luna Park 🎪✨for DANCE PALACE 💃🪩

Finucane & Smith have delivered a wild carnival of cabaret, music, dance, environmentalism, belly & burlesque, plus you can get your own skeleton painting!

Think rock goddesses with tomato sauce & pies , Bollywood love gods, First Nations brilliance, soaring soprano, Butoh, bellydance, burlesque, gothic glamour, country and the incredible Moira Finucane — all under one spectacular roof.

What I loved most was the collision of heritage and reinvention. An iconic Melbourne amusement park, newly reimagined, filled with artists who refuse to play it safe.

And because it’s Luna Park… there are spectacular views, booze and hot chips at the bar. 🍟🥂🎡

Melbourne creativity at its boldest, strangest and most joyful.

Congratulations to Finucane & Smith on 30 extraordinary years — the little company that could is very definitely still thriving. ❤️
