Rita has discovered that one of her favorite gifts to give is a compliment! It costs absolutely nothing, requires no gift wrapping, and nobody has to pretend they like it when they open it! 😂

So today, Rita is officially opening the Department of Compliments and Other Nice Things! 💌🐒

The department has one employee, two button eyes, and a very big heart. ❤️

If you leave a comment on this post today, Rita would LOVE to tell you something she genuinely admires about you or your posts. 🥰

NO GENERIC COMPLIMENTS EITHER! Rita believes everyone has something special about them, and she'd like to tell you what she sees.

All compliments are heartfelt, completely FREE, and come with an optional sock monkey hug! 🤗

Rita may not be able to solve all the world's problems, but she figures making someone smile is a pretty good place to start.

Besides, she's finally found a job where she can give things away without having to share her bananas! 🍌😂

😁💞🫶🏻😁💞🫶🏻😁💞🫶🏻😁💞🫶🏻😁

Rita used to be concerned about the squirrels in her neighborhood. She would like to formally apologize to the squirrels. They were never the problem. 😳It's the crows 🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛

Yesterday, Rita witnessed something that looked and SOUNDED like a nature documentary that should have come with a parental warning. 😱

She understands the food chain. She respects the food chain. But she does NOT want to see the food chain happening right in front of her BUTTON EYES! 🙈

For the record, Rita is the kind of monkey who has to check DoesTheDogDie.com before agreeing to watch a movie. She is NOT emotionally equipped for National Geographic happening in her own neighborhood!

Rita would prefer the birds to behave like they're in a Disney movie. You know, singing cheerful songs, helping princesses get dressed, maybe tying a few ribbons. NOT REENACTING A CRIME DOCUMENTARY IN THE TREETOPS! 🐦🎀

And now she understands why a group of crows is called a MURDER. 😳🐦‍⬛

Rita would like to unsubscribe from this type of nature please. Can you please send a hug, Rita needs one!

HALLOWEEN HAS OFFICIALLY EXHAUSTED RITA! 🐒💀

Rita suspects she may have overdone it just a tiny bit this Halloween. Between the costumes, the spooky adventures, the candy, and the constant pressure of being fabulously dressed, she is running dangerously low on monkey energy.

Rita planned to take a little break, but there's a small problem…

SHE'S GOING ON VACATION! ✈️🌴

And not just ANY vacation. She's going somewhere absolutely AMAZING, which means she needs some absolutely EXCEPTIONAL outfits! There are fabrics to choose, dresses to design, accessories to coordinate, and at least one completely unnecessary but spectacular fashion statement to make. 👗✨

Her human has suggested REST.

Rita has suggested a SEWING MARATHON.

Negotiations are not going well. 🤣

After all, a sock monkey can recover from exhaustion, but being photographed in an ordinary outfit at an extraordinary destination? THAT COULD HAUNT HER FOREVER!

🐒🔬🎃 SOCK MONKEY SCIENCE SATURDAY: THE SCIENCE OF TRICK-OR-TREATING! 🍬👻

After years of extremely questionable research, Professor Rita has finally discovered the scientific explanation for trick-or-treating!

According to Sock Monkey Science, Halloween is the only night of the year when humans willingly give away perfectly good candy to strangers wearing suspicious outfits. 🤔

Rita has identified three important scientific principles:

🎃The Law of Candy Attraction: Candy is naturally attracted to cute costumes. Rita believes her button eyes generate an unusually powerful candy field.

🎃The Costume Transformation Theory: Rita can visit a house dressed as a witch, return as a pumpkin, and come back as a vampire. Scientifically, that's THREE different monkeys. THREE candy collections. PERFECTLY LEGAL! 👀

🎃The Law of Candy Conservation: Candy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only be transferred from someone else's bowl into Rita's tummy.

RITA'S SCIENTIFIC CONCLUSION:

Halloween is basically a door-to-door candy distribution system operated by people who have completely lost control of their front porches.

Her only remaining scientific question:

If she rings the same doorbell 12 times wearing 12 different costumes, at what point does it become a police matter?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

After a whole week of Halloween costumes, Rita has saved her FAVORITE for last! 🥳

She's been a vampire, a spider, a skeleton, and all sorts of spooky things. But nothing has prepared the world for her ultimate transformation…

A CHICKEN!!! 🐔💛

Why a chicken? WHY NOT?! Rita has always dreamed of being a feathered creature who can cross the road without having to explain herself! 😂

There's just one small concern. Rita LOVES chicken nuggets, and she's not entirely sure if that's still appropriate. 😳

Rita is ready to do her best chicken dance on the dance floor at the Monster Bash today with her good friend @Djsammytheowl

Happy almost Halloween.🍌

Rita decided to explore the exciting world of witchcraft. Mostly because she heard witches can turn people into frogs, fly without buying airline tickets, and make candy appear out of thin air. 🐸🍬

Unfortunately, witch school is not going well.

Spell 1: Make unlimited bananas appear. Result: One banana appeared. It was already peeled. Rita suspects fraud. 🍌

Spell 2: Fly on a broomstick. Result: Broom refused to take off until Rita lost her carry-on luggage. Apparently, 47 dresses exceed the weight limit. 🧹

Spell 3: Cast a beauty spell. Result: Nothing happened. Obviously, the spell recognized perfection. 💅

Her humans have now forbidden her from practicing magic indoors after she accidentally turned the television remote into a cucumber.

Rita remains confident in her magical abilities. She has the hat, the broom, and the attitude.

Besides, she's been making bananas disappear for 20 years. If that's not witchcraft, what is? 🍌✨

Rita has decided to go undercover. VERY undercover. In fact, she's dressed as a skeleton, which is quite an achievement for someone who doesn't actually have any bones. 💀🐒

Her mission? Help her dear friend Pølle @denstrikkedegravhund finally meet the mysterious skeleton who has been lurking around, sending strange notes, and smoking licorice pipes. 👻

Rita figured that dressing like a fellow skeleton might make him feel more comfortable. After all, skeletons should stick together. Although technically, without muscles or skin, Rita isn't sure what's holding them together in the first place. 🤔

She's hoping to gain his trust, uncover his secrets, and find out exactly what he wants with Pølle!

What could possibly go wrong? 💀

And if things get scary, she's prepared to run. Assuming she doesn't lose a leg. 🦴🤣

Rita has eight extra legs now, and frankly, she doesn't know how she survived with only two. 🎃

Her spider costume has opened up a whole new world of possibilities!

She can dance in four directions at once, hug four friends simultaneously, and most importantly, peel FOUR BANANAS AT THE SAME TIME! 🍌🍌🍌🍌

She's calling this her greatest evolutionary achievement.

There have been a few complications. She keeps tying herself in knots, nobody knows which legs are crossed, and her humans have asked her to stop tap dancing on the furniture. 🙄

Rita has also learned that spiders catch flies in their webs 🫪🫪🫪

Absolutely disgusting. She's holding out for a banana delivery. 🍌🕸️

Happy Halloween Week! 🎃🕷️

🧛🏻‍♀️🦇 Halloween Week has officially begun, and Rita is kicking things off as a VAMPIRE! 🩸🎃

She's been practicing her evil laugh, perfecting her mysterious stare, and working on her Transylvanian accent. Unfortunately, everything keeps coming out sounding like a sock monkey asking for a banana. 🍌

Rita has decided to be a slightly different kind of vampire. She doesn't drink blood. She drinks Aperol Spritzes. She doesn't sleep in a coffin, but in a foam banana. And instead of biting necks, she gives unsolicited hugs. ❤️

Her greatest weakness? Not garlic. Not sunlight. A mirror that doesn't show her fabulous outfit. 😱

Let the Halloween festivities begin!

🧶🙈 Rita has a hat problem. Actually, Rita has a hair problem. The hat is just an innocent bystander. 😂

She tried putting a cute knitted beanie over her big hair. The hat said no. The hair said ABSOLUTELY NOT. 💁‍♀️

After considerable tugging, stretching, and negotiations with her scalp, Rita finally got it on!

She is now the proud owner of a sweater for her hair. 🧶🤣

Unfortunately, her hair is still expanding, and the hat is showing signs of structural distress.

Rita has been advised to avoid sudden movements, strong winds, and low ceilings.

If you hear a loud POP, don't worry. That's just Rita's hair declaring independence. 💥🐒

WELCOME TO SOCK MONKEY SCIENCE SATURDAY!

Today's Scientific Question comes from Rita's good friend Boba @utka_boba_travel from Spain 🇪🇸 Boba wanted to know what plushies do at night while their humans are sleeping? 🌙😴🛌🏻

Excellent question Boba. Rita has been conducting extensive research into this mysterious phenomenon, and the results are deeply concerning. Mostly for the humans. You might want to sit down before you read this.

According to Sock Monkey Science, plushies enter a state known as Nocturnal Fluff Activation (NFA) the moment their humans fall asleep.

During this period, several scientifically suspicious activities occur:

1. Snack Redistribution: Plushies inspect the kitchen for unattended treats. Any missing cookies are officially classified as evaporation 🍪

2. Furniture Dancing: Sofas become nightclubs, lamps become disco balls, and nobody has ever explained why the couch cushions are exhausted in the morning 🛋️🪑

3. Secret Plushie Meetings: Plushies gather to discuss important matters, including upcoming adventures, human behavior, and whether everyone is getting enough hugs and snacks 🤗🍫

4. Wardrobe Experiments: Clothing is tried on, fashion shows are held, and occasionally a sock disappears. Rita maintains this is unrelated to her 👗🧦

5. Telefluffic Communication: Plushies exchange messages with friends around the world using invisible frequencies transmitted through their stuffing. Distance is irrelevant. Wi-Fi is unnecessary. Banana antennas improve reception by 73% 🍌🛰️📡

6. The Great Repositioning: Exactly 4.7 seconds before a human wakes up, every plushie returns to its original position and activates Innocent Face Mode 😇

Scientists call this the Fluffington Effect, which explains why plushies always appear completely motionless when observed 😳

Rita would like to remind everyone that this research is highly classified, completely unverified, and absolutely true🤐🤫🙈

She also refuses to explain why there was glitter in the refrigerator this morning. 🍌✨

If you spend an entire day doing absolutely nothing, but thinking very hard, does that count as being productive? 🤔

Rita has been sitting on the couch for several hours now, contemplating some very important matters.

Like why bananas don't come with zippers, whether clouds know what shapes they are, and if she should change her outfit before dinner.

She's solved absolutely nothing, but she's generated an impressive number of questions.

Surely all this mental activity qualifies as a hard day's work?

Rita is now considering taking a well-deserved break from thinking. Unfortunately, she can't decide whether she deserves one, so she'll have to think about that too. 😂🍌

Does anyone else get exhausted from doing absolutely nothing?
