Announcing the first Further Triennial coming in 2027 to Northern California.

Further Triennial will bring together the region’s nonprofit arts institutions and cultural centers for a season of original exhibitions and public programs, highlighting Northern California’s rich cultural history and robust arts network. The inaugural event will take place from March through June of 2027.

Further will partner with dozens of organizations throughout the region, including 500 Capp Street, Berkeley Art Center, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University, CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, The Contemporary Jewish Museum, Creative Growth Art Center, Creativity Explored, Crocker Art Museum, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Gray Area, Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco, Institute of Contemporary Art San José, Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, Headlands Center for the Arts, Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at the University of California, Davis, MarinMOCA, Museum of the African Diaspora, NIAD Art Center, Oakland Museum of California, Root Division, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San José Museum of Art, SFAI Legacy Foundation + Archive, and SOMArts Cultural Center, among many others.

Gallery 16 and RITE Editions have collaborated on a new series of prints by artist Tucker Nichols, an artist based in Northern California. @tuckernichols, @gallery16

This new edition will be featured at the SF Art Book Fair, RITE Editions A07 table, July 18-23, 2024. @sfartbookfair, @minnesotastreetproject

During the 2020 pandemic shutdown, Nichols began to send flower paintings to sick people on behalf of their loved ones, eventually making thousands of small paintings for those in need. The project, “Flowers for Sick People,” became an outlet that helped Nichols “stop scrolling and participate in our strange times.” This set of prints is based on small flower paintings from this project.

In 2024 Tucker released his most recent book, “Flowers For Things I Don’t Know How To Say”.
His work has been featured at the Drawing Center in New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Denver Art Museum, Den Frie Museum in Copenhagen, and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. by @rite_editions
