One more set from @sfartbookfair so much to see so much affordable. Including a selection of $100 cyanoprints which you can buy by the each or mix and match to create your own compositions. What a great fair! ❤️❤️❤️ art fashion books zines ephemera prints editions recordings and much much more. And lastly, a cordial inquiry from a curious observer: if you are any kind of an enterprise, either group or individual, where getting public exposure (including having a booth at this fair) is part of your purpose, why would you not allow people who really like what you're doing to tag you on SM?

one week away from driver’s seat echo and WOW. i’ve been feeling very ill these past few weeks, and your body being confusing really can tank your morale. i decided to gather every poetry collection, chapbook, and art edition i’d published and celebrate the newest member of the family! don’t they all look so pretty and jealous that the little sibling is getting all the attention…

real talk: THANK YOU to all of the tagged publishers who believed in me at any point in the 6 years i’ve been writing. thanks to you, i live my dream every day and come out of doctor’s appointments looking for patterns and light to write about afterward. and to everyone who has any of these books—you a REAL ONE. thank you for reading some of the thoughts that have run through my head these first 25 years of living. cheers to so many more years and SO MANY MORE BOOKS!!!

#Repost — Founded in 2014 by @in_fo_co designer-editors and open thinkers Adam Michaels and Shannon Harvey, Inventory Press publishes brilliant, bespoke books “on topics in art, architecture, design and music, with an emphasis on subcultures, minor histories and the sociopolitical aspects of material culture.” Read: everything they do is interesting, cool and feels new.

Pictured here:
1. Every IP book, big to small, including Cyberfeminism Index, A *New* Program for Graphic Design & Seeing | Making → Room for Thought

2. IP staff @adamjmichaels @danigrossman5 @parkersprout sporting A *New* Program for Graphic Design @bootboyzbiz long sleeves, viewing the Steven Leiber Catalogs poster

3. Cyberfemism Index preorders, 2023 - by the unstoppable @mindyseu

4. Cyberfeminism Index hat, 2021, featuring “Unstable Signs” designed by @lauracoombs The male-male-female-female symbol appeared on the 1997 webpage “darKcoRe” by the artist GashGirl (Francesca da Rimini). The symbol originally appeared as two gold female symbols and two silver male symbols, the stems of each float and interlock into the circle of the next, creating an entangled loop of gender markers and fluid relational possibilities

5. On press at @lincoprinting for Blueprint for Counter Education posters

6. Colorproofing Media Burn copublished with @rite_editions under the California sun

7. Recap of the fantastic conversation and launch celebrating Pia Camil: Friendly Fires at @lago_algo

World Weapons is a 150 paged clothbound book that brings together the Palabrarmas series by the Chilean-born artist, poet and activist Cecilia Vicuña (born 1948). Images of these works—each a powerful juxtaposition of color, poetry and politics—appear alongside new essays and historical references chosen with the artist. Palabrarmas, a neologism that translates to “word weapons” or “word arms,” imagine new ways of seeing language. Taking the form of collages, silkscreens, drawings, poems, fabric banners, cutouts, mixed-media installations and street actions, Vicuña’s Palabarmas bring together her work in poetry, activism and visual art. Each one unpacks and deconstructs single words to reveal other words hiding within them, allowing new meanings to emerge.

The artist began making these visual anagrams while in exile in London and Bogotá after the Pinochet-led coup of 1973 in Chile, and has always seen them as a form of liberation—as a way to “open up minds by opening up words,” as she puts it.

The Palabarmas have taken on new relevance in today’s political climate, and appeared on the streets during Chile’s 2019 revolution as protest signs. This book presents a range of Palabrarmas in color for the first time, with new essays by Mónica de la Torre, Carla Macchiavello, Cecilia Vicuña and Jeanne Gerrity, and reprinted texts by René Daumal, Robert Randall and Simón Rodríguez.
