Bringing AI to the A-List, from reels to Times Square
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Today we launch.

Reebok’s first-of-its-kind commercial for the Angel Reese 1 is proof of Ritual Ads’ model for how brand stories are built.

In one day on a 19,000-square-foot Chicago soundstage, we turned headlines into Fuel—transforming doubt into dominance and reframing Angel’s story of resilience into a cinematic anthem.

But the real innovation? Embedding AI at every stage including pre-vis, scripting, storyboarding, editing, finishing, so we could compress months into weeks and expand creative possibilities instead of shrinking them.

This is more than a sneaker launch. It’s a statement about what happens when AI and human vision align: campaigns designed with intention, executed with precision, and scaled with speed.

For Reebok, it’s about cultural leadership. For Ritual Ads, it’s a demonstration that AI is not a gimmick but a partner in storytelling. For marketers, creators, and investors, it’s a signal of what comes next..... how you can increase impact while reducing friction.

Stay tuned. by @ritual.ads

Year one. Thank you.

This quarter, the brands building with Ritual Ads pushed generations up 175% over Q2 and shipped 1,785 finished videos in three weeks of September alone.

We wrote them a letter: the work we made together, the people who joined us, and what comes next.

And this week at a16z's LA Tech Week, we launch the new Ritual Engine.

Brief in. Ads out.

Research the market, find the idea, build the world, shoot it and cut it, all in one place.

Every new account starts with 1,000 free credits.

For a long time, advertising has started with the brief.

The brand tells us what it wants to say, the creative team finds an idea, and production begins.

But I think we have an opportunity to start somewhere else.

With what people are already saying.

People are constantly talking, questioning, debating, joking, and trying to make sense of the world around them.

Those conversations contain signals.

Most of the time, we never see them.

That is what we wanted to explore with the Ritual Engine.

For this project, we analyzed thousands of conversations and looked for the questions people were already asking.

One question kept surfacing:

“Is this real?”

That wasn't a question we invented for the campaign.

It was already there in the culture.

So we followed it.

The Ritual Engine turned that signal into 384 creative ideas, which we then developed into cinematic film concepts.

And for me, that's where this gets interesting.

The real opportunity with AI isn't simply making more creative, faster.

It is giving us the ability to understand more before we decide what to make.

If we can listen to culture at a scale we've never been able to before, the brief can become something more than a list of brand objectives.

It can start with a real human question.

Maybe the brief shouldn't always tell us what to make.

Maybe culture should tell us what is worth making.

For decades, making a great commercial meant choosing between three things: time, money, and ambition.

You could have the big idea, but getting it on screen took months.

You could move fast, but compromise on craft.

Or you could spend millions trying to do both.

That equation is changing.

A filmmaker sent a pitch at midnight.

By morning, there was a trailer.

A car chase across a frozen sea. Takes selected. Rhythm cut. Speed shaped. Sound balanced. Grade built. Titles placed. XML generated.

Nobody touched the timeline.

This is what autonomous video design looks like.

The next creative advantage won't be about who can generate the most footage.

It will be who can turn direction into decisions:
What stays.
What gets cut.
When to hold.
When to accelerate.
How every frame serves the story.

From generating assets to directing outcomes.

From pitch to picture.
From prompt to trailer.

That's the future we're building at Ritual Ads.

Al-activated. Human-led. Cinematic by design.

The Dartmouth Entrepreneurs Forum was more than a conference with people on stage. It was about what happens when everyone gets in the same room.

Last week in San Francisco, the forum brought together people building, questioning, creating, and making introductions that could turn into something bigger. The conversations kept going well after the panels ended.

Here’s a 60-second glimpse of the day. Ritual Ads® had a blast helping produce this highlight, and thank you to the Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship at Dartmouth for bringing us together.

And to everyone who attended: You all are a part of what made this gathering so wonderful.

One scene.

Infinite possibilities.

But the real challenge isn't how many things AI can create.

It's how consistently a brand can create them.

As AI gives creative teams the ability to explore more worlds, styles, formats, and variations, brands need something deeper than a prompt to keep everything connected.

The same creative intelligence should travel with the brand, no matter what you're making, which model you're using, or how many directions you're exploring.

That means your brand doesn't just have guidelines.

It has a living creative system.

One that understands the look.
The voice.
The story.
The feeling.

And gets smarter with every piece of work.

That's where we're headed with Ritual Ads.

More possibilities. More iteration. One unmistakable brand.

Last night I stood on FDR's yacht and thought about brand consistency.

Stay with me.

The USS Potomac was Roosevelt's "Floating White House." Last night it carried a deck full of marketers past Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate at sunset, thanks to Brand Innovators. Leaders from Google, Meta, YouTube, PayPal, Reddit, Intuit and Anthropic. No heels allowed. Jackets mandatory. Sixty degrees and a wind that restyles your hair for free.

Here's what got me.

FDR had one voice. One microphone. It came through millions of radios into millions of living rooms, and it sounded like the same man every single time. Calm. Specific. Unmistakable. A country in crisis always knew exactly who was talking.

Now look at what a CMO carries in 2026.

Hundreds of formats. Thousands of assets a quarter. Agencies, in-house teams, creators and models, all speaking for the brand at once. Each one a shade off. A tone off. A feeling off.

The question I kept turning over at the rail: how do you stay you, everywhere, at the speed the market now demands?

That's the work at Ritual Ads®. We call it the Large Brand Model. Infinite Brand Consistency. Everywhere. A brand's craft, memory and judgment, built into the engine that makes the work. Cinematic. Accountable from brief to performance.

Roosevelt had a fireplace and a microphone.
Your brand has ten thousand touchpoints and no fireplace.
We're building the fireplace.

If you lead a brand that refuses to blur, let's talk. If you want to build this with us, my DMs are open. If you back category creators, same door.

Thank you, Brand Innovators. Best boardroom on the Bay.

Infinite brand consistency. Everywhere.

That is the promise. Here is what makes it possible.

Every brand is about to run thousands of AI-generated assets a week. Across a dozen models. Through agencies, partners, and two hundred people who each prompt differently.

Same brand. Every frame. Every channel. Every model. Every time.

Nothing in the stack today can do that.

Guidelines describe rules. They can’t enforce them.
A DAM stores assets. It has no judgment about them.
A prompt is a request. Not a rule. And it has no memory.
A fine-tune dies the day its base model is retired. Sora lasted 16 months.

So we built the layer that holds.

A Large Brand Model.

A large language model is trained on the universe of language.
A Large Brand Model is trained on one brand.

Its voice. Its visual grammar. Its story world. What was approved, by whom, and what was refused. What actually worked in market.

It sits above every generation model. It briefs them, constrains them, grades them. And when a model gets replaced, it remembers everything.

Swap the model. The brand holds.
Change the agency. The brand holds.
Ten thousand variants. The brand holds.

Governed. Repeatable. Measurable.

Every brand will need its own intelligence. The ones that build it first will compound. The rest will be prompting.

The category has a name. 53 verified sources. The full paper:

Directed La La Anthony in Brooklyn today.

Her story starts here. A kid from Brooklyn working hourly jobs, hustling toward the dream. Today we came back to tell that story for EarnIn’s “Payday Is Every Day” campaign with WORTHI.

And what a joy. La La walked on set camera-ready at noon and gave us everything. Warm. Grounded. Take after take, each one better than the last.

Massive gratitude to the team. The EarnIn and WORTHI teams who trusted the vision. Melanie Sudyn producing and keeping shooting humming like a Swiss watch. Zach Cooper on the Easy Rig painting with window light all day.

This is why Ritual Ads exists. Strong stories. Stronger teams. One Brooklyn afternoon.

Wrapped and grateful. 🎬 taken in Brooklyn, New York by @ritual.ads

At Cannes Lions this year, I sat down with Liz Bacelar, Global Head of Al & Advanced Analytics at Under Armour.

One thing became clear fast: everyone is talking about Al, but very few people are defining it correctly.

We unpacked the difference between Al, generative AI, and the broader ecosystem of technologies reshaping how brands create, market, and grow.

This isn't about semantics. It's about better decisions. The companies that understand these distinctions will build better products, tell better stories, and earn a lasting competitive advantage.

Less hype. More clarity.

Can AI reinvent the TV commercial?

The CEO and Founder of @ritual.ads, @jethrofilms (Jethro Rothe-Kushel) recently joined Tracy Swedlow of TVOT to talk about how AI is used to transform commercial production at Ritual Ads, and what it means for brands, agencies, and creators.

We got into why so many traditional commercials fail to deliver results, how we used AI to produce cinematic-quality campaigns for brands like Reebok and Martha Stewart, and whether the future favors the biggest agencies or the most imaginative storytellers.
