A month ago, the kids started jiu jitsu!

It's been so cool to find something they ALL enjoy. Watching them get more confident, break a sweat, make new friends, get that heavy proprioceptive work, & want to come back has been the best!

Tonight, Astraea got her first "promotion", a stripe added to her belt!!! She was grinning ear to ear (I wasn't ready with the camera 😅) and ran back to her sister to celebrate.

One of my favorite summertime activities is the weekly summer concert at the farmers market!

I love the scheduled time to be outside together. The kids run free. Sometimes, listening and dancing to the music, sometimes occupied by each other, bubbles and tag. The grown-ups sit, laugh, snack, and sometimes sing along!

Happiest birthday to my guy!

What a year this has been for you and us all, couldn't have imagined it even 2 years ago. I hope you're truly proud of the family man you are. Our kids adore you, and I've loved watching you find your groove this year through the chaos.

Our amazing Astraea performed with her hip-hop class at recital!! 🖤

She's always been a star, but she really practiced hard, made friends (obviously), and was actually quite nervous! She was so excited and it was so important to her. They had a great team, wonderful teacher, and even when they had a little goof in the beginning that through them all off, they all bounced back with a smile on their face!! When we asked if she wanted to do it again, she initially said she didn't know yet, that she was so stressed all week! But now, she says it was so fun, and she wants to be back on stage. She felt all the love and felt so special! 🥹 Only complaint was she didn't have a pretty outfit 😅

Our sweetest Luella performed in TWO dances 🥹

She was so brave, excited, and happy to be there! She wasn't even nervous and said she wants to be on stage again! Her first show was tap dance, age 5-7, so definitely more complicated. She practiced at home and did so well! Her second show was ballet (8hrs later and STILL did amazing!) If you watch the video, she was SO excited to see her BFF first in the front row!! 😭 She was thrilled to wear makeup, have her hair done, and wear the prettiest dresses. And to be given so many flowers and feel so much love with everyone there!! Core memory for sure. Infinitely proud of her! 💕 by @rivayoung

Our amazing girls had their first recital a few weeks ago! They both did incredibly, especially for having to be there for multiple shows that day. We're so proud of their commitment and excitement. They were SO proud of themselves, which is was truly matters! 🥹

The full Lunsford family came for Luella's tap show in the morning, then both girls performed in the evening show, ballet for Luella and hip hop for Astraea, they had SO many people cheering them on! Poppo and Dodo, Nonno and Nonna, Auntie Ray and Hollis 🤍 Thank you all for supporting our sweet girls!

Update on what I've been up to! 🤍

In 2024, I attended 53 births (and 49 of those were from June on) a combo of midwife assisting & doula support with an amazing doula team I joined @calledtobirthdoulas ! I also began my journey to becoming an IBCLC (international board certified lactation counselor) mentoring with @river.lactation for clinic and finishing my lactation education in October, next up is finishing some health sciences classes and clinic hours! I continued to teach my postpartum, newborn & lactation education at the birth center to families birthing anywhere and also became a CPST (certified child passenger safety technician) helping people keep their babies/kids safest in the car. I've helped many families in the birth space, prep for hospital, birth center, or homebirths. I've supported postpartum with latches, babywearing, processing birth, and anything else needed. There are weeks I'm pretty slow and spend most of it with my babies and there are weeks it seems I'm not home much at all between births, prenatal appointments, lactation clinic, class and office work! It's definitely a juggling act. Thankful for everyone who trusts me in their space.

For 2025, I know I'll be busy between already having 10 doula clients booked, completing some college courses, assisting midwives at the amazing job they do, learning as much as possible from my IBCLC mentor, and of course my amazing family. We have our first "real" family vacation planned (not camping), our long joint camping trip, homeschooling goals, and all of the activities the kids love participating in!

Love the birth world and have since the moment I joined it in 2018, call me if you need support 🫶✨️

Also shout out to my husband, who has taken on a TON of the load the last 6ish months. Couldn't do it without you.

Happiest birthday to my platonic soul mate! You're the most amazing human, and you deserve the world. I couldn't do parenthood or life without you and I'm so grateful I don't have to (you're stuck with me). You're the best mama changing everything for them, love my kids (enough to carry them down 7 flights of stairs at 1am or sleep with them all night for us to go away), make the best pie and soup, can talk to me for hours endlessly and not be done, and a million other things. I love doing life with you and can't wait for so many more years 🖤 cheers & I love you!! by @rivayoung

✨️My sweetest Luella on your 5th birthday!✨️

I just cannot believe how much you grow year after year. Not necessarily in size, but in confidence, in skills, in bravery, in adventure!

This year was a big year of firsts, and you continue to just bloom and grow before us. Farm school outside fully, which a year or 2 ago we would've NEVER believed you'd not only agree to, but have the time of your life. Making new friends, challenging what you want to do, going through scary things like water park slides and pitch black caves, playing in mud and with bugs.

You still love all things princess, girlie, purple and pink. You love singing and your siblings and your BFF. Dresses and skirts MUST twirl and the shoes have to be pretty. Things must be comfortable on, but you'll also wear a complicated hairdo for 5 days+. You're learning to read and to play with others you don't know (bigger deal for her) and to sometimes step out of your shell, while also being the one who knows truly what you do and don't like. I still appreciate your more cautious nature.

You are so you and we have just loved watching how that shifts and grows every year.

You said this morning that 5 is SO big and I think this year WILL be so big for you. You're amazing and sweet and silly and smart and coy. You feel big, you love those you love big.

Our big guy got his 1st official haircut!

His hair was so long, always in his eyes and now he "looks like daddy" 🥹 he did AMAZING, like shockingly. Sat through clippers and lining up and lots of cutting for 25m! He did AMAZING! 👏

And now he looks like a little man, all of us were dying, but it's also sad he's so not baby anymore 😭

Also he's such a little cheese ball, we love our buddy boy 💚
