“Young women own property”
That, they do.

After 24 years, I have finally reached a major personal milestone and lifelong dream: Purchasing my first piece of this Earth.

So with hands full of native seeds I ask the divine:
May it be the culmination of land wisdom from my ancestors, the skills I’ve developed through formal land restoration projects, the joy of my personal garden, and the influence of the many mentors I’ve been truly blessed to have learned from. May it be a showcase for best practices for land stewardship in this area and beyond. And may it be the first of many.

Cheers to following dreams and having enough courage to pull the trigger. by @riverthisworld

“How to Grow Butterflies”
Oil on canvas, 2026

What a magical reintroduction to focused oil painting this piece was. Inspiration brought on by major personal transformations.

For whatever reason couldn’t stop noticing the symbiotic relationship between this butterfly (Gulf Fritillary) and its host plant (Passiflora sp). Over the course of completing this painting: I successfully hatched & released over 20 Gulf Fritillaries, drove across the country and visited @botanicawichita where I saw their chrysalis hatching station, began building my own, exhibited twice @cloudtreegallery, and broke through into a whole new phase of life and purpose.

May peace, native plants, and positive momentum be with you all in your personal journeys 🦋 by @riverthisworld

The Gulf Fritillary obsession lives on! And is now taking shape via salvaged metal provided and fabricated by @larsstanleystudio with creative direction by Lauren Stanley!

This fall, it will be installed on E. M. Franklin Avenue (just south of Mueller) and covered with native passion vines of course! This “Green Street” was developed 10 years ago. It is one of, if not, THE FIRST street in Austin to utilize curb cuts and infiltration basins to collect, filter, and infiltrate street runoff while passively irrigating native vegetation. It’s the most inspiring thing to see realized.

If being in such an urban environment depresses you, research green infrastructure! Your world will be forever changed.

I’m so grateful to be a part of creating this public sculpture and hope you can attend the unveiling in celebration of the neighborhood’s ongoing collaboration here! Details to be announced. by @riverthisworld

PSA! As it appears society is collapsing, you can get free compost AND free wood chips in Austin, TX!

Become a bit more self reliant and you will recognize your own resilience! Heal the soil wherever you are currently planted.

I have frequently ordered wood chips from Chipdrop.com with very quick turnaround and good quality/experience. They connect local arborists and land service companies with citizens close to their site so landfills are removed from that equation.

I also just found out about JV Dirt + Loam off FM 973. They offer free tested compost if you load it yourself or they’ll load it for you for $20-30.

The world is abundant and good systems already exist. It is awesome to engage with and support them.
