RMC Health System to change name to Baptist Health Calhoun Hospital

Anniston, AL (July 13, 2026) — RMC Health System (RMC) today announced that it will become Baptist Health Calhoun Hospital effective Oct. 1, 2026. The new name marks an important milestone in RMC’s integration into the Baptist Health network under Orlando Health, following the acquisition announced in April 2026.

"The new name represents more than a sign on the building; it reflects our shared vision for the future of healthcare in this community," said Keith Parrott, president and CEO of RMC Health System. "We are proud to join the strong foundation established by Baptist Health here in Alabama while investing in the people, programs, and services that will help meet our community's health care needs for generations to come."

The name change is part of a broader integration process designed to align the hospital with the Baptist Health brand and enhance the patient experience across the health system. Through a comprehensive market study, input was sought from community members across the region to help select a new hospital name that honors RMC’s roots in Calhoun County while reflecting its future. New signage will be installed on day one.

"This new name reflects both where we've been and where we're going. Baptist Health Calhoun Hospital honors the deep roots and trusted legacy of RMC Health System while representing our future as part of Orlando Health's Alabama Region and Baptist Health,” said Thibaut van Marcke, senior vice president, Orlando Health Alabama Region, and president, Baptist Health. “We are proud to build on that foundation and continue providing exceptional, compassionate care for the patients, families and communities we have the privilege to serve." by @rmchealthsystem

June is PTSD Awareness Month, and while the month is coming to a close, it is never too late to take care of your mental health or check in with loved ones!

PTSD is a treatable mental health condition that can affect anyone — veterans, civilians, children, and adults — who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event such as combat, assault, accidents, disasters, or serious medical emergencies.

1 out of 20 Americans develop or suffer from various forms of PTSD any given year, and it's time to release the stigma; talk to your family, friends, or primary care physician about a path forward and take the first step in healing today.

June 1-7 each year is National CPR and AED Awareness Week, spotlighting how lives can be saved if more Americans know CPR and how to use an AED.

Did you know about 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes?

If you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you love. Be the difference for your parent, spouse, or child. What if it were them?

In 2007, the AHA in coalition with the American Red Cross and the National Safety Council worked collaboratively to designate a National CPR and AED Awareness Week nationally.

Together, we spotlight how lives can be saved if more Americans know CPR and how to use an AED. Our campaign reinforces these skills but also places importance on the willingness of bystanders to act in a cardiac arrest emergency. by @rmchealthsystem
