Another Year! Another annual Cup and Saucer Hike completed.
Not sure how many more of these we will get to do as a family, as each of these amazing children will be off and living their own best lives possible.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving! I am thankful for every memory created, every laugh, every tear, every fight, every moment captured while being granted this wondeful gift of fatherhood!!

Inroducing the Barrie Storm U17 Select Team.

Big shout out, and thanks to all the ladies that came to tryouts. Selecting a Team is never an easy thing to do. This year was especially hard with the amount of talent that came out and competed over two days of tryouts.

Very excited for this upcoming season. To see how much these ladies will develop, forge friendships and continue their love for the game!

Coaching is a privilege that I approach with great pride.
Having a deep Coaching staff this year with:
Coach Richard, Coach Neil, Coach Kyle and Myself is an added bonus and I can’t be more elated to develop a phenomenal Team, that will do great things this upcoming season.

Daddy’s Lil MVP.
Not just one MVP for Ms Lily but 2 😊😊

To say that Im proud of this young lady is an understatement. Not only does she exemplify great leadership, team play and enjoys the game.
I never have to ask her to put in the work.
She started this year playing right handed, after only playing left handed her whole life.
She learnt to switch hit with no difference, can catch and throw with both hands, and pitches left handed when asked. True testament to the work she puts in!! Happy Dad. Happy Coach.

Growing up, I had the privilege of being “coached” by my own Father. Being able to share this year Coaching her, laughing with Teammates, loving the game together has been something beyond measureable in words. It’s a blessing.

Now back to the lab, to put in more work and keep improving on her development areas!!

Sky is the limit for this beautiful young lady, and I am so proud of her and glad that I get to be a part of this journey!! by @rob_cretzman

That’s the official wrap up for this years ball season.

Parents vs. Kids game to end the season.

Being able to Coach my own daughter has been an amazing experience, along with the privilege of Coaching a great group of amazing young ladies.

It was a great day not only coaching these kids to whoop these parents …17-6.

But playing with the girls, having both my sons out there playing and umpiring, their mom also playing with the parents, and the joy of having my Dad not only come, but Coach these parents!! 3 generations out there playing, laughing and enjoying a great day fills my heart!!

Little sad that the season has ended. Excited to see how far they will all go,not just in baseball, but wherever life will lead them !!!

That’s a wrap to this years season. Very fortunate to have made it to the 2nd Day playoffs in Tier One- Not a bad showing being in the top 10 in the Province for a Team made of over 3/4 first time players.

To say that i’m proud of these young ladies is an understatement. These young women, worked since September all year. Practicing, exhibition games, 8 tournaments. 253435 Alanis , 2400 bags of seeds, 100 eye blacks, tape, tears and everything in between that makes summers fly by and my heart stay full.

Never thought I’d want to really Coach. Now thanks to these ladies. Cant Imagine not Coaching.

Having the ability to spend more time bonding with my own daughter has truly been a blessing I can’t describe.

I switched her hands to start the year, make her pitch opposite hand, bats both ways and tested herself and her ability and only continue to improve on the field as a player and as a leader on the team. Her growth and ability has been nothing short of incredible to watch. Looking forward to how much further she will go!!!

Slowly and Steadily it’s coming back. Hey Jason Newkirk you ready to go soon kid? I will only slow you down a little bit now 😉

Although injuries have slowed me down. They have also helped me correct certain lifts, mobility for sure and if Donna Smrek sees this, I have been stretching EVERYDAY. proactively lol by @rob_cretzman

What a difference a year can make!! As @johnfacey told me. (195lbs in both photos)
Am I close to where I was before. Nope, not at all! In years past, I’d never share a picture like this as body dysmorphia was crazy!! That has subsided quite a bit since my injury(s)

Am I smiling in this picture. Yes for sure. Because a year ago. I was still in physical recovery. 20 months ago. I wasn’t sure if I’d walk or be able to exercise, ever again.

What injuries have taught me:
- Make sure your financial health is worked on as much as all the rest of your wellness
- It’s ok to ask for help.
- Be bigger than your setback, cause little eyes are watching.
- Real Genuine friends show up…. and force you to take help. Love them for this.
- Old friends remind you been through more, and this is fuck all in a life of effort.
- Resiliency is not easy, nothing without effort will ever bring you peace and understanding
- Journal the lows. That makes things easier to handle and gives great perspective when things turn.
- And smile in pictures. It could be worse, some have it worse and smiling shows yourself you know you’ll be ok… has to be a real one tho!

Like a bad call in a game. Injuries are not always preventable. How you respond to them is!
Control the small steps, that builds the outcome and lastly. Work.

Nothing in life worth having ever came easily. Job, relationships, finances, faith or self belief.

Let’s see how far we make it in all those things, next year!! by @rob_cretzman

“Hey Coach Rob, can we do a different warm up?”. Sure!!
Then they proceed to do the macarena lol. We are accepting any and all help for choreography 🤣🤣

So proud of these young ladies with the amount of effort and dedication they put in. Week and week out. The fun and energy never stops with them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!!! These kids rock!!!

First Tournament of the Season complete!!
New Team, New Season and some new hardware.

Coaching has been one of the most fun experiences for me to be active in, watching these young ladies give it all the have, being great athletes and incredible ambassadors of sport is truly a great gift.
Making it to the Championship in their first ever tournament was awesome!! A second place 🥈 I’m happy to have earned, with a summer full of improving.

Lily’s U15 Select Girls Softball Team has started their first fundraiser!

The ladies are selling delicious Kernels popcorn!! We will and are taking Pre-Orders now.

With all the amazing flavors and ONLY $3 a bag, the only question I’m asking. Is how many do you want??

They say every journey begins with one step. I can honestly say I’m not even looking at one step. I am thankful for the idea of movement after the uncertainty!!
More important I am thankful for this man right here @raphael_elida_vivien Is the reason I am back on my fitness journey. (after a few surgeries). He has helped rebuild my achilles, left shoulder and now my right one. His approach to my fitness is not just the muscles, tendons, ligaments etc! He also spends the time to approach all things holistically. He makes sure I am building slow, reminds where I am, where I am coming from and more importantly where to go! He looks at me as a key component to his lifestyle approach which makes him great! He sees my pain… not just the physical, he knows the joy being a father gives me and the importance of physical activity as part of my make up. This is not a post to promote his business. More so, to promote the compassion and love he pours into my rehab. He doesn’t just aide in helping me get heal, he aides in the HELP to HEAL all of me. For this I am forever grateful to his knowledge and approach.
Honestly, I can say this journey is rough, and sore. But he’s done the hard task. He’s made me approach stretching and mobility first and foremost prior to picking up weights, while doing the impossible. “Making me listen”

Journey begins with picking the right ppl to be in your corner to lift you up. You need to stand before you take a step!! by @rob_cretzman
