Big 40th Birthday today.

I'm at the age now where I realise that every day is a gift, and today I'm fortunate enough to be celebrating my 14,611th.

GETTING OLDER is wild. I used to feel like I was getting something wrong by stacking the years, like I was somehow supposed to stay young forever. But you can't do that and although the thrill of youth was intoxicating, I'm starting to understand the richness of maturity. And the only way to get there is to get older!

The 40-year-old man in the first pic has so much in common with the 16-year-old boy in the second, but at the same time, he has nothing in common with him at all.

The paradox of growth.

We outgrow ourselves only to become what we always were.

Much love to you if we have shared some space and time together, however fleeting, in the last 40 years.

I'm aiming for another 80 years, at least, by the way.

Much love.
