Last Friday I had the honour of attending a listening party of a very special album ‘VINTAGE’ by @robakajackflash and @illasbeats I honestly think it’s one of the best albums of the year to say the least. They’re also holding an online listening party this Sunday if you want to get involved message them and they’ll send you a link. ‘VINTAGE’ is one of the most vulnerable and honest, proper boom bap, Hip-Hop albums I’ve ever heard. Jack Flash takes you on a journey through his life and career, reminiscing on the good, accepting the bad and conveying lessons learned along the way. Illas’s beats pair up perfectly with expert use of soulful samples and dope boom bap drums. As the album progresses and the story gets deeper and more personal the beats slowly become more melodic like the sound of robs last album ‘Trust In The Chaos’. But if I remember correctly finished on a great bomb bap high. It has some awesome features from some of the best rappers of West Yorkshire Joe Snow , Oliver Rees, Addverse, Imranimal and ExP @joe.snow.pang , @oliverpedrorees , @imran_jogee @exp.ben If your a regular listener of the @dubwhy Wednesday show you you will of heard ‘Growth’ by Jack Flash and ExP already 😜 The listening party was a great experience I hope more people start to do this. It was great to hear what others thought and hear their reactions. We all discussed what we thought, Jack Flash broke down a lot of his thought process and inspirations, Illas gave some in depth sample and beat breakdowns. It was very interesting and inspiring and it felt very personal. Highly recommend you join the listening party online on Sunday if you can. And even more highly recommend you buy the album when it comes out next month. We finally have a Jack Flash Vinyl and it’s a heck of an album too. Big up to everyone who attended, big up you if you read all this 🙏 🖖🫶✌️ … #ukhh #ukhiphop #ukhiphopnews #realmusic #listeningparty

World Champion rapper Rob Bradley, aka Jackflash, returned to his former primary school in Huddersfield for an incredible rap workshop with the Year 5 pupils! 🎤🔥 The children loved every minute, with some saying their favourite part was shouting out random words for Rob to instantly turn into an on-the-spot freestyle rap .Others said the best bit was getting the chance to write and perform their own raps with confidence! Rob was thrilled to be back at the school he once attended as a child, and the staff were full of praise for the way he inspired creativity and brought out the talents of every pupil involved. 👏✨ #HuddLitFest26

March has been a fantastic month for inspiring the younger generation via @huddlitfest_official Schools Programme. It’s been a real privilege to listen to the amazing feedback from pupils and teachers who have worked with authors, artists, musicians and drama specialists! It was especially great to witness the transformation of 60 year 6 pupils in a workshop with @robakajackflash at @greenheadcollege where they couldn’t wait to get up and perform their raps! #loveyourjob #literaturefestival #huddersfield #creativityunleashed

Last week, Year 6 pupils from Reinwood Juniors and Moldgreen Community Primary joined us at Greenhead College for an unforgettable workshop with Rob Bradley! Students were inspired by Rob’s incredible freestyle rapping and eagerly got started creating their own. With his expert guidance on rhythm, rhyme, and personal storytelling, the room buzzed with creativity. The day ended on a high as pupils and Greenhead students performed their raps, sharing their work with confidence and energy. Wow! We have had an amazing week celebrating the ‘Power of Words’ for our 2026 Book Week and are very proud of our boys for being so enthusiastic and engaged with every single activity. Visiting poets have left them stunned with their verbal dexterity, with award winning children’s poet Kate Wakeling, and Rob Bradley from The Rap School, inspiring the boys with their control and mastery of the English language. Other key highlights have included our first whole school poetry recital, the dress up parade and the Alligator’s Mouth Book Sale as well as engaging creative writing lessons. Our incredible Head of English, Mrs Rasch, closed the week reminding everyone that we have plenty more exciting events in store as we celebrate the National Year of Reading. Watch this space! . . #towerhouseschool #bookweek #poetrywriting #eastsheenvillage #swlondonparents
