Some morning fun on President’s Day to celebrate some of the legends….Herbert Groover, Ba-rack-tom Obama, Richard Stickson, Teddy Rolls-a-velt, and my all time fav, Millard Fill Less. Who’s your favorite?

Loving this @firchiedrums snare on my right side…it’s instantly tunable and can be a snare or a tom. Some jangles from @bigfatsnaredrum and @indexdrums to round things out. @vaterdrumsticks always. And some vintage (new to me) Altec 165a mics.

Trying to get back to posting more drum / studio content. Let’s work on some music together. by @robbygriffo

Hard to believe this amazing day was a decade ago. I’m so lucky to be on this journey with you, raising our little guys, and growing older together. Happy 10 @lauramengel 💙! taken in The Bushnell by @robbygriffo

Watched the Lion King with my kids the other night and thought this beat would make a great fight scene. Like, just picture Simba and Scar in a cliffside cage match, while Rafiki is clubbing a hyena with his walking stick. by @robbygriffo

Before the last @bronzeradio tour I was thinking of ways to incorporate more percussion elements that were on our records, into the live setting. I came up with this way of getting a 16th/32nd note tambourine happening while keeping the beat going. It’s come in real handy for lifting the chorus or bridge of a song when needed. It doesn’t work all the time because sometimes you can’t spare your left hand and foot, but in the appropriate setting can be very effective. Quite a few people have asked about it over the years, so I thought I’d share.

It doesn’t work well with every tambourine, but I love this @lpmusicofficial click hi-hat tambo for it. Dynamically, it’s not too loud, and it responds well to the left foot. Also, you can turn off the jingles on songs you don’t want them. It’s just a great design.

Ok, end nerdy drummer rant. 🥁✌️

I’ve always loved this @brianbladeofficial solo over this vamp with Joshua Redman. The subtle choices; the explosive moments….the master himself always inspires. Now back to the endless pursuit of trying to have a sound and feel as amazing as his. 🥁🍗🍗

Very happy to have this one out in the world today. This is a song that means a hell of a lot to our band, and we hope you’ll give it a spin or two. All performances and production by the band and @chadcopelin . Mixed by myself. Mastered by @danshike . Recorded at @dreamlandrecordingstudio . Artwork by @nathanpriceart . Shoutout @young_patchouli for helping with so much behind the scenes. by @robbygriffo

60% of the time, I like quiet 16th notes all the time.
