📢 ALL-STATE SELECTION: ROBBY LUCAS ‘25 (ABINGTON HEIGHTS)‼️

The 6’3” senior has been named to the Class 5A Third Team, becoming the seventh player in Abington Heights history to earn All-State honors — and the first to surpass 1,000 career points since 2019 grad George Tinsley. He also becomes the first All-State selection under head coach J.C. Show, himself a former three-time All-State honoree (2012–14).

Lucas scored 455 points this season, averaging 18.2 PPG while shooting 49% from the field, 43% from three, and 72% from the line. He posted eight 20+ point games, earned NEPA Hoops All-District 2 First Team honors, was a two-time first team division all-star, and a member of the division’s all-defensive team.

He helped lead the Comets to a third consecutive District 2 Class 5A title and a return to the state tournament. Over his career, Lucas started 90 games and totaled 1,091 points.

Up next, he’s headed to Hartwick College to continue his academic and basketball careers!

#7 and 2-seed Abington Heights (14-10) goes 4-for-4 on the line on intentional and technical fouls to escape 1-seed Pittston Area (15-9), final score 53-48.

The Comets capture their third consecutive and 16th overall title, remaining undefeated at Mohegan Arena with a record of 7-0 in appearances.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: ROBBY LUCAS (‘25 / 6’3” / SF, SG) 🔥

Robby Lucas of Abington Heights made history in a dominant performance against West Scranton, dropping a career-high 35 points while breaking the program’s record for most three-pointers in a game with 9! His scoring effort was incredibly efficient, shooting 13-of-21 from the field and 9-of-14 from beyond the arc. Lucas also contributed 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the win, leading his team to a commanding victory.

Despite a tough two-point loss tonight, senior Robby Lucas made history by surpassing 1,000 career points in his home game against Valley View! Lucas becomes the first player at Abington Heights since George Tinsley (2019) to reach the milestone, with Tinsley finishing with 1,561 career points. Big things ahead for Robby as the Comets look toward their last divisional game!
