🏆 WE WON FIRST PLACE AHHHHH

This feels so unreal and I couldn't be more proud to have our team's work be celebrated. The Golem puppet, Robert's computer, Coupe's wings, full body paint- everyone put in so much effort to make these characters and this world come to life.

This was my first shoot that I produced, and BOY did it come with some hiccups 🫩 Pivoting to different set locations like a week beforehand and several people dropping out of the project less than 24 hours before the shoot (due to being sick or personal reasons) doesn't even BEGIN to cover all the variables that were being thrown at us.

But I wouldn't trade this 20-person (and 1 very good dog) project for the world. My beautiful director Ali stuck with me through all the ups and downs 🙏 This team made a 12-hour shoot day go by fast, and people who were virtually strangers that I DM'd became instantaneous friends. So many memories made, so many animal facts shared- this is an experience that I'll always cherish <3

Please check out @theadhocstudio's full article on their website and look at all the winners' work!

Back in February, a team was assembled and the Phoenix program arose 🔥

It was truly an exciting experience working with everyone to bring @theadhocstudio ‘s game Dispatch to life. Tremendous shoutout to @crystalsfantasy for producing and gathering the team, and to @aliand_cosplay for directing!
I had so much fun building Golem 1.0! Unfortunately, he did meet his demise in the move 😔 Nonetheless, Golem 2.0 will be underway and I already have plans on how to improve the design to puppet him more!

Here at SDN, we celebrate diversity. Our Phoenix program is the perfect example of SDN dispatchers and supervillains having the opportunity to collaborate and foster a welcoming space where anyone can be a hero! (Swipe left for a heartfelt surprise)

Did some hand studies
The other thing I've been challenging myself with is only using a 0.3 Hi-Tec-C pen with no pencil under-drawing. It definitely challenges me to really focus on drawing what I'm seeing and make pen strokes that have purpose rather than throwing rough lines everywhere with a pencil and erasing until it looks right.

I haven't been drawing as much lately, but when I do, it's been some sticky note sketches.

Picked up some grey brush pens and figured I'd try them out with a sketch of my D&D character Rauquie (pronounced like rocky), a cowboy themed warforged artificer (armorer subclass)
I haven't drawn in quite a while, so I'm dusting off the cobwebs with some new mediums and styles.
