What a fun weekend!
The Hammerhead Ocean Marathon 5k was more like 5.3k, and I was super happy with my performance and not getting bored and spacing out after swimming for so long with my thoughts and the songs in my head 🤪 I still can’t believe I can go without music or talking for this long 😂 😂 😂

A big thank you to my “coaches” @coltman.endurance and @coachraquelscarpelli (I tried my best not to cross my arm when I breath 😆). Poor Rob missed the swim for the first time in 20 years, he had to go to a conference, so I held the @coltman.endurance fort ⛺️

An afternoon with two sweet friends I could spend days with (let’s plan that trip, @jen.mons and @marybeth.perrone ).

Brunch and happy hour with my @duval_ocean_swimmers family.

Sunday funday with the Rio swimmer then Gainesville and Ginnie springs to visit Matt, who started his Freshman year at UF 🐊 by @robertacoltman

Jack Johnson for his SURF FILM MUSIC tour.

Thank you @don_livingston1 for the tickets!!! Lily and her bestie sang every word of every song, and I got to see JJ for the third time 🙌

Jack Johnson’s “Thicker than water” movie back in the 90s was the first surf movie I could watch with the sound on, all the others had me turning down the volume with their punk music 😆! Then comes Jack and I’ve been a fan since!

If you think he’s too mellow in concert, absolutely not! He and Zach, his amazing piano man, crank it and have everyone dancing all night!

If you’ve been to a Women’s Wellness workout, you already know... Booty Burn is a staple. 🍑

Why? Because it’s more than just building a stronger backside (although we definitely love keeping it high and tight)

Strong glutes help support your lower back, improve posture, protect your knees, increase balance, and make everyday movement easier. They’re one of the most important muscle groups for women—especially as we age.

And then there’s Roberta. Her energy is contagious, her playlists keep you moving, and somehow she makes you laugh while your legs are shaking.

We come for the burn.
We stay for the community.
And we leave feeling stronger than when we walked in.

Swim around Key west 2026

We did it again and this time there were 22 of us swimmers and kayakers! I say Rob had a direct or indirect influence on each one of us being there, as he loves this race enough to be this year’s title sponsor 🙌

Most of us were from the Jax area and representing DOS @duval_ocean_swimmers

I had lots of fun swimming and kayaking 12.5 miles with my teammates while blasting music, dodging crew ships, lightening and bumpy waters. Actually, I don’t live kayaking, so I might have to swim longer and kayak less next time 😉

Lots of fun in the ocean last Saturday for the @duval_ocean_swimmers
Last Man and Woman Standing ultra swim.

We started at 7am and every 2 hours we went off to swim 2 miles. In between miles we chilled under our tents, re-fueled, re-applied sunblock, then off again we went… all day!

I swam 5 miles (8km), the most I’ve ever done! Conditions were PERFECT and there was no other place I’d rather be than IN THE OCEAN!

Many swimmers were still going strong after 8 miles when a storm forced the event to end 😒 (most were shooting to swim 10-12 miles!)

Better late than never - Girls trip to New York City, April 2026.

The idea was, three days in the city not doing anything touristy, trying a couple of different fitness classes, eating amazing food and just having quality time with each other, and the city delivered!

Cherry blossoms and tulips were blooming everywhere, three of them had lived in the city and took turns showing the rest of us places we didn’t even know existed! Empty streets, local restaurants, corners of Central Park I had never been before, family neighborhoods, and more. Unforgettable memories!

Ironman Jacksonville, the 16th for Rob and the 1st for Jacksonville! With only 7 iron-distance triathlons in North America, it is a privilege for our city to have this event 🙌

The day was windy, hot and humid, making the conditions brutal for all athletes 🥵. The 2.4-mile swim was fast on the St John’s river thanks to the timing of the race with the tide. The 112-mile bike went south to Ponte Vedra and did 2 loops passing by our house (many people were mad about traffic, but get over it, it’s only 1 day per year!). The run course was a beautiful 3 loop thru downtown and riverside, thru parks, streets and on the riverwalk.

I volunteered at the aid station on the run course sponsored by @coltman.endurance and @cbpt_jaxbeach . Our theme was Baywatch/Lifeguards 🛟under the command of Captain @mandylynnejohnson and our energetic and fun, dancing 💃🏽 volunteers made us the best station (that’s what many runners told us 😉

The day was so hot 🥵 that athletes were pouring water and ice all over themselves, all day long, every single one of them! We could tell that many were not feeling so great 🥵 🤢

Downtown was beautiful and the perfect setting for the finish line, right by the river with the Jax skyline 🏙️ behind us.

As for Rob, he was very grateful for another finish for himself and for the finish and great performance of his 3 athletes.

With any event of this size, there are definitely many lessons to be learned, but I really hope it comes back next year (hopefully in a cooler month 😉).

Spring Break 2026: Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, La Isla Del Encanto, home of Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio!

Our 4th Spring Break here. Why? Because after months of cold weather (and this winter was even worst!), all we want is sunshine, warm and clear water for surfing and swimming, and a sun tan 😉 That means, we need to go way south and Puerto Rico provides all that, plus delicious food, super nice people, ease of travel, and it doesn’t break the bank 🙌

This time around we added 3 days on the East Coast to explore the El Yunque rain forest, a Bioluminescent Bay, and some calmer waters, then crossed the island to the west coast to our usual stay in Isabela for some surfing 🏄‍♂️ for Matt.

We’re not resort people, but the El Conquistador resort is pretty awesome and fun for the whole family! So many pools, water slides, lazy river, hot tubs, live music, DJs, dance club, its own paradise island, restaurants, gorgeous grounds … I might become a “resort person” after this one 😝

Our hike to the highest peak of the El Yunque forest, with the sounds of coqui frogs from the forest 🐸 and Bad Bunny playing on my phone 🎵, was my favorite activity of the east coast, and, of course, Mofongo continues to be my favorite food, with Medalla beer and coconut mojitos tied for favorite drinks 🍻

We’re back home and I’m so glad we were gone when it got cold again! Spring, you’re welcome to start now 🙌 taken in Puerto Rico by @robertacoltman
