Rob and I crafted our wedding rings for each other with incredible teacher and artist Stacey Mairs @midnightpacific. Watching @robertginkgo do this labor of love for me melted my heart like solder in a torch flame. Pics of the treasures to come. 💍 ❤️ It turns out that Stacey grew up a literal stone’s throw away from Rob in Massachussets. They could have hit a tennis ball into each other’s yards. And they are one year apart in age. Small world, total kismet. Stacey, we will be back to craft more treasures with you as soon as we can! @la.picosa we are soooooooo grateful for your caring warmth towards Julian. We really got to kick back and get into the craft zone knowing you were taking care of him. by @robertginkgo

How you doin’ on this fine solstice? At the risk of the AI bots stealing our son’s soul, here’s a little Julian update. Get an eyeful while we haven’t yet sorted our family PR policy. 😬 We had lovely first Mom’s and Dad’s day and everyone’s doing just fine. World, this is Julian. Julian, World. Our little boy just turned one month yesterday ( ♓️ ☀️ & 🌖), and Dove and I have been full time falling in love with him. So grateful to say that Juju & Mama are both healthy. I just adore being his dad, and I know we are going to have a fantastic time together. One of the sweetest parts is getting to introduce him gradually to our amazing community, with early visits from Grandma, and many aunties & uncs: @cameo_peach & @ripleezinc , @_.empyreal.nomad._ , @spiney.bone.spines , @_andywarren , @shmaleri , @bacso & Barb. Also, HUGE thanks to everyone who’s partaken in our meal train so far. If you haven’t and would like to, DM me for details. 2024 holds some massive milestones for me. Next week, @_andywarren & I will be celebrating a decade of @believeyoumepdx with one of our favorite intermittent traditions: an all-night residents night, playing solo and B2B sets. As an avowed nostalgia enthusiast, I’m having a delightful time combing my collection for music that speaks to specific moments in time over the last tenth of a century, and digging up old photos like this one, taken at a @flight.pdx event at the Rose Bar, shortly before our first night there. This will also be my last time DJing publicly before taking a bit of a sabbatical for the even bigger milestone of this year- the arrival of Dove’s and my baby in March. Both Dove and little homey will be on the dancefloor (on the earlier side), and I couldn’t be more proud that they’ll get to participate. This will be a more intimate event, at the rapidly transforming space at Watershed- IYKYK. If all that sounds like a good time, and if this party has meant something to you over the past ten years, I truly hope you’ll join us. Ticketing info on the BYM bio link. Happy birthday to Rob!!!! 🐐 ❤️ He is happily composing synth music downstairs as I write this, y’all would be happy to know. I am so fucking in love with this man. @robertginkgo is the most versatile, creative, caring, hilarious, intelligent, talented, unpretentious and compassionate person you could know. He is a tremendously invested and loving friend, husband, father, son, facilitator of transcendent musical experiences, community nurse, mentor and supervisor of other nurses working hard in the field of psychiatric care. Rob is so singular. I can’t believe we get to make family together, and that there is a baby iteration of his wonderfulness percolating in womb at this moment. These pics are all from the last few months. There are so many more from the last 3 and a half years together. People, I would walk through my own terrible fires for him and I will never stop examining and healing my own shortcomings to love him better. Needle in a haystack found. My man. Forest Friends was many things. Dunbar’s Rave. An integration of the three most significant communities in my life (ceremonial, Lazy Wizards, and PDX rave family). A platform for some of my all-time peak creative expressions during DJ sets. A restorative retreat that left me feeling nourished and serene. A chance to see so many talented friends playing music in top form. This has become the unmissable event of the summer for me- something I deeply needed, after I decided to stop attending another previously unmissable local event. Here’s the recording from my set closing out the River Stage on Friday at sunset. It’s heavy on oughts/bloghouse nostalgia, if you’re into that sort of thing. Unfortunately, no recording exists from the Believe You Me bathtime set, or the unplanned, headphoneless spa set, but the ideas are still fresh with me. My deepest thanks to @_andywarren & @yellin_degenerates for curating this beautiful event, and to the inspiring humans of the @believeyoumepdx / @holdmusicpdx / @osmosis.world / @spendthenightpdx axis.
