Secondhand Stories LLC is a newly opened used bookstore in Edgewater, FL. Owner Brandi Rogers has a good assortment of books, leaning on paperback fiction at very attractive prices. Not to worry, there are lots of nonfiction titles in various subjects. Books are shelved by subject. Fiction looked to be in loose alphabetical order, non fiction is just by subject. Good selection and price. Brandi was very friendly as we commiserated over the unwanted political phone calls on our cell phones. Edgewater has a great new bookstore with @turtleandbeabookboutique. Now we have a used bookstore to match. My pickings for today are shown. It will make me very happy to remove the Seine book and SPQR from an Amazon list. James Fraser, "the people's Bishop," Chapel located at Manchester Cathedral. Fraser served as Bishop of Manchester from 1870 until 1885. The chapel was designed by Joseph Stretch Crowther and was constructed in 1886-1887. Manchester Cathedral is a Grade I structure and is open to the public for viewing. Admission is free though a £5 donation is recommended. Access may be limited based upon services and events. Get to Costco for the Bonne Maman 12 Days of Christmas jam and marmalade gift box before they sell out. This is a beautiful boxed assortment, perfect to give or pick up for yourself. My wife bought one for us. The box contains 12 mini jars of delicious spreads. Each jar is 28g, so just under one ounce each. Flavors include Apricot (2) Concord grape Fig Guava Hazel nut chocolate Orange Raspberry (2) Strawberry (2) Wild blueberry The best part (well other than the taste) is the price. I haven't been in a Bass Pro Shops in probably 10 years or more since visiting Memphis. That shop is located in the unique pyramid building. We had a specific reason for stopping at the Daytona location and I couldn't help but commemorate the visit. If you are into fishing, hunting, guns, boats, outdoors, etc. this is the place for you. Two floors to explore if you are so inclined. Don't leave without your logo t-shirt. We didn't get one of those but did grab a moon pie from the massive display. You know I love my coffee but I passed on the Black Rifle display. The store was clean and the staff friendly. Our cashier shared his moon pie advice which included heating it in the microwave for a few seconds. taken in Bass Pro Shops by @robertreddhistorian

We visited a local international food store and of course I got to looking at coffee. The owner swore by the German brand Jacobs Kronung ground coffee. There are lots of red flags but I thought I would give it a try. 250g vacuum sealed bag. $14.99. It turns out this is a blend of arabica and robusta beans. There is no origin statement. The roast is pretty dark and the grind is fine. I first tried brewing on a V60 as shown. The grind is so fine that the draw down time for a 30g dose was way too long. The fines were all over the filter. The water was struggling at the end as the bottom clogged up. The bloom wasn't too bad, as shown in the photos. I have since tried it in a Keurig machine at work. The flavor can be pretty bold. There is no room for subtle notes here. No florals. No fruits. There is a smokey flavor and every now and then a note of chocolate slips in. It's a lingering taste that will sit with you for a while. While not bad, it's not one I am likely to purchase again. I didn't try it through a regular drip brewer so that might be better. For me, I will leave it at work and use it in the shared Keurig machine. by @robertreddhistorian
