🍂 Autumn on the Farm 🍂

If you know me, you know I'll never miss an opportunity to spend quality time with my children and grandchildren. Yesterday's spur of the moment trip to Tiashoke Farm was so fun and I'm grateful for the time to play with my sweetie pies. Lainey had a blast picking out so many pumpkins of all shapes, colors and sizes 🎃.

This beautiful family owned Farm in Schagticoke raises dairy and beef cows (2000 heartbeats as was described to us 💓) and grow over 200 varieties of the most beautiful pumpkins around. The Farm has the cutest country store and serves a delicious lunch...they are also just the sweetest family! Do yourself a favor and add this Farm to your fall plans.

There is something so magical about this season...so full of vibrant colors, delicious smells and families outside enjoying time together ❤️. taken in Tiashoke Farm by @robinpinto518

🍁 Fall Days & Family Connections 🍁

What a wonderful couple of days spent celebrating family, old stories, new memories, and the beauty of Autumn in New York!

With my mom visiting from California, her sister Dottie and Dave made the trip from south of Boston to join us for a hearty fall meal around our table, filled with wonderful stories and plenty of laughter. It was especially meaningful having Lyndsay, Robin, and River join us, as this was their very first time meeting Auntie Dottie and Dave. We hope some day very soon that we will have the opportunity to get to know eachother's entire families because our lives can only be further enriched by more family.

Yesterday, we continued the fun with a visit to the Chatham Craft Fair in beautiful Columbia County. The fall foliage was in full vibrant color display, making an already special day that much more memorable. 🍂

There was something so incredibly special about watching my mom and her 'newly discovered sister' shopping together, laughing at rachothers' corny jokes and sampling the local goods that really tugged at my heart. They should have had a lifetime of shopping trips together but fate had other plans for their lives. But they have today and all the days remaining in their lives to create ordinary moments together.

With each opportunity to spend time together, we learn a little more about one another, share another story, and add another chapter to a family history still unfolding.

Sometimes life's sweetest gifts are the relationships we never knew were waiting for us. I am so full of gratitude and love for these very special people in my life! 🧡💛🤎❤️

And just like that… 27 years working for the railroad have come to an end. 🚂❤️

Today John’s Amtrak family gave him the sweetest send-off as he officially clocked out for the very last time. It was such a special gathering of his current coworkers, a wonderful group of retirees he spent so many of those 27 years working alongside, and our family, including the four little VIPs....all four of our granddaughters were SO excited to be at Papa’s retirement party at the train station!

What a beautiful way to close such an important chapter of his life, surrounded by the people who were such a big part of the journey.

Congratulations, John. After 27 years, The Legend Has Retired! ❤️🚂

Today John heads to Amtrak for his very last day of work after 27 years of dedicated customer service to the railroad.

He’s feeling all the bittersweet emotions that come with saying goodbye to such an important part of his life. Amtrak has been a wonderful place for him to work, and the Amtrak family has been so good to our family over the years. We’ll always be grateful for the people, friendships, and memories that came with this chapter.

This morning, I sent him off with a few retirement gifts, including his new hat, “The Legend Has Retired,” and the countdown clock we started with 68 days to go. Today, it reads just 8 hours!

Retirement will be a big adjustment for this creature of habit, but we’re looking forward to what comes next, especially more time together and the chance to enjoy this next chapter side by side.

We’re so proud of you, John. Happy last day, and here’s to everything ahead! ❤️

Tonight John and I got to see Morgan and Haley’s new property for the first time and it was so special. They truly found the most beautiful piece of property in such a great location.

Morgan spent his childhood playing with Tonka trucks and building things in the sand box, so watching him on his own land, driving a skid steer with the biggest smile as he cleared the spot where he’ll one day build his dream home, is something I’ll never forget.

There are moments as a parent when you get to watch your children’s dreams come to life, and this is one of them. I’m so incredibly proud of Morgan and so happy for him and Haley as they begin this amazing next chapter together, building a magical place where their family will grow, explore, and make memories for years to come.

It'll be a long process but I can't wait to watch the the whole journey unfold. The added bonus for us is that their land and future home is just four minutes from where we live!! 🌳🏡❤️ by @robinpinto518

💛No Goodbyes, Just See You Soon💛

No trip to Santa Barbara is complete without lunch at The Boathouse at Hendry's Beach....its become a favorite tradition. My mom and I spent a beautiful 80° afternoon at the beach with Jessica and Jake followed by a sleepover at their house before boarding my flight home to NY.

Leaving my hometown in California and all of my family that live there is always bittersweet but I truly cannot wait to get home to everyone. I can specifically think of 4 precious little angels that I cannot WAIT to hug very tightly!!

It's been a really wonderful and very HOT trip, reaching temps of 108° in the valley🔥, filled with family time, excellelent California cuisine, relaxation, adventures and nostalgic places. I'm leaving California very refreshed and ready to get home to Fall in NY where I will begin planning my husband's retirement celebration 🍾 😊. taken in Hendry's Beach, Santa Barbara by @robinpinto518

💛Paradise Found💛

As my two weeks in California come to an end, there is one weekend I know I’ll carry with me for years to come. ❤️

High in the hills of the Santa Ynez Valley, near the base of Figueroa Mountain, sits Coyote Ridge Ranch. My mom’s oldest and dearest friends have owned this land since I was a small child. I remember camping there as a little girl, before the trees had even been cleared. Returning for a weekend stay more than 50 years later and seeing what they’ve created always takes my breath away.

Beyond the walls, golden hills and majestic oaks stretch as far as you can see. Inside, the ranch feels like a secret oasis, with red stucco walls, palms, cactus, succulents, tropical gardens and a beautiful pool. I kept taking pictures, knowing none of them could quite capture how it felt to be there.

Our friends generously opened their home to us while they were away, giving my family the gift of a peaceful weekend together. My mom, Jessica and Jake stayed in the main house, while Hannah and I each had a room in the guest house.

We swam, grilled tri tip by the pool, cooked together, and one afternoon Dylan, Emily and friends joined us, and spent long evenings talking and laughing as we celebrated Jake's birthday. At night, an owl camped out near the guest house and calling out while coyotes yipped in the hills around us making sure we understood how Coyote Ridge Ranch got its name. 🌙

My favorite moments, though, were the early morning walks with Hannah and our two fluffy companions, Theo and Vinny. As the sun rose over the hills, Hannah and I had time simply to walk and talk. Since she moved to California a year ago, that time alone with her meant more to me than I can say.

Our family has known tremendous loss, and this weekend gave us room to rest, reconnect and enjoy being together. Thank you, Philip and Cassandra, for sharing this extraordinary place with us. It was a gift to the soul. ❤️

This trip has taken me back to so many places that shaped my childhood. At Coyote Ridge Ranch, I got to return to one of them and make beautiful new memories with the people I love. My heart is so full. 🌿 taken in Coyote Ridge Ranch by @robinpinto518

💚 Memory Lane 💚

Today’s adventures took us into the mountains above Santa Barbara and deep into my memory bank. ❤️

Our first stop was Cachuma Lake, where we enjoyed lunch by the water with a couple of adorable squirrels who decided to join us. 🐿️ This lake holds a complicated but very special place in my story, and even inspired the title of the book I hope to finish writing someday, I Thought We Were Camping.

My sister and I stayed there for several weeks as children. Our mother protected us so well from the painful reality of our circumstances that I truly believed we were simply camping. It wasn’t until she referred to that time as “when we were homeless” that I finally understood....I was 40 years old when this was revealed. What a shock that was, and what a testament to a mother who made an incredibly difficult situation feel like an adventure to her little girls. ❤️

Next, we drove into Red Rock, where I spent many fun days camping with my best friend and her family. It is also where I once managed to put my sister’s Karmann Ghia into the river, landing it on a giant rock and requiring a rescue from the rangers. 😂 We had more fun that day than we had any right to and itvwas a treasured memory with my sister.

From there, we headed to one of my favorite places of all, Cold Spring Tavern. Nestled high in the mountains above Santa Barbara, it brings back so many memories, especially because it is just down the road from where we lived when Lyndsay was born.

Our final stop was “The Shack,” the very rustic little cabin on Kinevan Road along East Camino Cielo, and the first home Lyndsay ever lived in. It was rough even then, but seeing how much it has deteriorated was bittersweet. Still, that old cabin holds so many good memories, and I’m grateful I had the chance to stand there once again.

All in all, it was a day filled with laughter, a few surprises, and so much nostalgia. Some places may change with time, but the memories they hold remain tucked safely inside us.

Today, I got to revisit a few of the places that helped write my story, and what a story it has been. ❤️ taken in Cold Spring Tavern by @robinpinto518

We spent an afternoon at the most beautiful beach I've been to in California. The sand was so pristine with the clearest water and the coastline stretched for miles. It happened to sit at an adorable whistle stop railroad station in the middle of nowhere. What a special place!! Aside from the Great White Shark warning, it was practically perfect!! Needless to say. I opted NOT to swim 🤣🤣🦈🦈 taken in Surf Beach, Lompoc/Vandenberg AFB by @robinpinto518

Yesterday's Adventure began with a hike in the beautiful Najoqui State Park (pronounced NAH-ho-wee), a 100 foot seasonal waterfall. The last time I visited this park was 38 years ago and I couldn’t wait to go back.

The park was originally the site of a native CHUMASH village which translates to "meadow" or "honeymoon place". Local lore includes legends of a Chumash chief who prayed through a drought until a white-dressed woman appeared and turned into the waterfall.

There isn't very much water falling this time of year but the hike through the gorgeous oak tree filled forest is one of the most beautiful I've ever done. We had the park practically to ourselves (probably had something to do with the sweltering 102• heat!), except for a few young dear that escorted us up the trail. Luckily we didn't encounter any mountain lions!! 🐅

It's a gift to be able to do a hike like this with my mother. We've both had and have great mountains to climb, medically speaking, so this wasn't just a little hike for us....it was an overcoming, a triumph!! taken in Nojoqui Falls State Park by @robinpinto518

Some Goodbyes Come Far Too Soon 😪

Two weeks ago, I received the heartbreaking news that my brother Jeremiah had passed away from a very sudden cardiac event on August 22nd, 2026.

Life’s path didn’t give us the opportunity to grow up together, but I’m so grateful for the times we shared as adults getting to know one another, discovering the funny little familial similarities between us, and sharing stories and memories of our father. He'd reach out to me to encourage me through my medical battles and check on my healing or to tell me how beautiful my family was and how happy he was for me.

Those moments became very special to me. Jeremiah was a genuinely kind soul, with the best smile and a gentle way of communicating that made people feel seen and brought them together. ❤️

In recent years, he turned that natural gift for connecting with people into a calling through The Jeremiah Show. He leaves an enormous and beautiful footprint on this world, not simply through all that he accomplished, but through something far more important: the people he loved, the relationships he nurtured, and the way he made others feel.

Your light will allways be on, Jeremiah, in the beautiful legacy of kindness you leave each of us 💛 🫶. by @robinpinto518

My cup is overflowing. ❤️

I just spent the BEST couple of days with my Hannah in Long Beach, one year after she packed up her life and moved across the country to create a new kind of happiness for herself.

And boy, has she done exactly that. ❤️
There’s something incredibly special about getting to step inside your grown child’s world, to see where she lives, walk her neighborhood, meet her friends, visit her church, go to school with her, and meet the people who have become her community.

And everywhere I went, I heard some version of the same thing:
“You must be so proud of her.”
And I absolutely am. 🩷

I got to see her adorable new apartment, explored Long Beach and San Pedro with her and her incredibly sweet new friend where we walked to the beautiful Korean Friendship Bell, ate some delicious food at a Michelin Star Thai restaurant in her neighborhood and, of course, we laughed A LOT.

I visited her church and was overwhelmed by the warmth of the people who welcomed me and absolutely gushed about my daughter. It was immediately obvious that Hannah hasn’t just found a church. she’s found a home. ❤️

And I spent a day with her at ReIgnite Hope, where she has earned her MIG and TIG welding certifications and is now studying Non-Destructive Testing. 👩🏻‍🏭🔥

Watching her work gave me an entirely new appreciation for what she has accomplished. This stuff is HARD!

But what touched me most everywhere we went was hearing people describe Hannah as hardworking, resilient, kind and special.
As her mom, I already knew those things. But hearing them from the people who are part of her everyday life? That got me. ❤️

When Hannah moved 3,000 miles away, I never could have imagined where this new life would take her. But after these few days, the smile on her face tells me everything I need to know.
She is exactly where she belongs.
And this mama is leaving with the greatest gift of all: knowing that although my girl lives far away, she is surrounded by people who see her, encourage her, believe in her and genuinely love her.

Love you, Hannah Banana. 🩷
I’m so proud of the life you’re building. and I love watching you become the best version of yourself. ❤️ taken in Long Beach, California by @robinpinto518
