🍂 Autumn on the Farm 🍂

If you know me, you know I'll never miss an opportunity to spend quality time with my children and grandchildren. Yesterday's spur of the moment trip to Tiashoke Farm was so fun and I'm grateful for the time to play with my sweetie pies. Lainey had a blast picking out so many pumpkins of all shapes, colors and sizes 🎃.

This beautiful family owned Farm in Schagticoke raises dairy and beef cows (2000 heartbeats as was described to us 💓) and grow over 200 varieties of the most beautiful pumpkins around. The Farm has the cutest country store and serves a delicious lunch...they are also just the sweetest family! Do yourself a favor and add this Farm to your fall plans.

There is something so magical about this season...so full of vibrant colors, delicious smells and families outside enjoying time together ❤️.

🍁 Fall Days & Family Connections 🍁

What a wonderful couple of days spent celebrating family, old stories, new memories, and the beauty of Autumn in New York!

With my mom visiting from California, her sister Dottie and Dave made the trip from south of Boston to join us for a hearty fall meal around our table, filled with wonderful stories and plenty of laughter. It was especially meaningful having Lyndsay, Robin, and River join us, as this was their very first time meeting Auntie Dottie and Dave. We hope some day very soon that we will have the opportunity to get to know eachother's entire families because our lives can only be further enriched by more family.

Yesterday, we continued the fun with a visit to the Chatham Craft Fair in beautiful Columbia County. The fall foliage was in full vibrant color display, making an already special day that much more memorable. 🍂

There was something so incredibly special about watching my mom and her 'newly discovered sister' shopping together, laughing at rachothers' corny jokes and sampling the local goods that really tugged at my heart. They should have had a lifetime of shopping trips together but fate had other plans for their lives. But they have today and all the days remaining in their lives to create ordinary moments together.

With each opportunity to spend time together, we learn a little more about one another, share another story, and add another chapter to a family history still unfolding.

Sometimes life's sweetest gifts are the relationships we never knew were waiting for us. I am so full of gratitude and love for these very special people in my life! 🧡💛🤎❤️

Tonight John and I got to see Morgan and Haley’s new property for the first time and it was so special. They truly found the most beautiful piece of property in such a great location.

Morgan spent his childhood playing with Tonka trucks and building things in the sand box, so watching him on his own land, driving a skid steer with the biggest smile as he cleared the spot where he’ll one day build his dream home, is something I’ll never forget.

There are moments as a parent when you get to watch your children’s dreams come to life, and this is one of them. I’m so incredibly proud of Morgan and so happy for him and Haley as they begin this amazing next chapter together, building a magical place where their family will grow, explore, and make memories for years to come.

It'll be a long process but I can't wait to watch the the whole journey unfold. The added bonus for us is that their land and future home is just four minutes from where we live!! 🌳🏡❤️

Some days become memories before they're even over. ❤️ Yesterday was one of those days.

A 2½-hour drive, miles of walking, beautiful animal sightings (The Brown Bear playing with his branch in his pool was a highlight for me 🐻) , 4 happy little girls and one very full heart. Our trip to the Bronx Zoo was a day I'll cherish forever. 💞

These are the moments that matter most...the ones where we're not collecting things, we're collecting memories. The kind our granddaughters will hopefully carry with them long after they've forgotten what animals they saw.

At the end of the day it wasn't about the zoo...it was about being together and I'll treasure this memory forever. My heart is very full today. 💓 🦒🦁

My mom and I spent a really great, albeit foggy, afternoon with my nephew Dylan up in Morro Bay, California...where he lives now. Morro Bay is known for their large population of adorable otters, seals and birds as well as the giant Morro Rock, a 576 foot volcanic plug. Such a cute little fishing town. Its good to be back home in Cali with family 😍.

Our Weekend Trip to Ogunquit, Maine 🦞.
This past weekend was everything I’d hoped for and more, a true celebration of my mom and my husband’s birthdays, wrapped up in sunshine, ocean air, and lots of family.

We kicked things off with an incredible waterfront dinner on Perkins Cove at Barnacle Billy’s and a carefully planned surprise for John with Josie and Linds joining us for a dinner of lobster fresh off the boats. The next morning we explored the beauty of Marginal Way with a gorgeous 82° mile & 1/2 walk along the Maine coast just one month after my open-heart surgery, which was a huge victory for me 💪💖.

Later, we met up with my mom’s newly discovered sister (thank you, Ancestry DNA!) Auntie Dottie and David at the picturesque Nubble Lighthouse. We all went to dinner at The Lobster Pound, where we laughed, connected, and enjoyed discovering all the “sister similarities."” My mom even picked her birthday lobster right out of the tank, a first for her! 🤣🦞

We topped off the night with Maine’s famous blueberry ice cream at Big Daddy’s (pure heaven 🍦💙), and the next morning had breakfast at the Maine Diner with my mom’s first cousin David and his wife Judy; it's been decades since they’d last seen each other. They reminisced about family and childhood memories together, which is something my mom doesn't get to do very often living so far away from her family, so it was very special.

This trip was so much fun, the perfect mix of family, celebration, and healing after a long, hard month. Our hearts are so full, and we are so grateful for the memories that were made ❤️.

It was an absolutely beautiful Fall weekend spent exploring some of the best orchards, farm markets and outdoor eateries in Upstate New York. We spent Saturday in Columbia County at Our Daily Bread in Chatham then onto The Chatham Berry Farm for the best meal and ambiance and we finished our day at Samscott's Garden Market in John's hometown of Kinderhook for the most incredible homemade ice cream 🍦 😋. Sunday we met Morgan, Haley and Lainey at Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont (my 1st time there) where we played with the animals, stocked up on apples and had the BEST cider donuts 🍩 I've ever had in my life! Im trying to soak up every bit of this gorgeous weather outside because we all know what is coming around the bend soon ❄️ 😁.

Life has a way of surprising us in the most beautiful ways. ❤️ Just a week ago, through Ancestry DNA, my mom discovered that she has a half-sister she never knew about. After 70+ years of life stories lived apart, they met for the very first time this weekend.… in Boston!

Watching them hug for the first time, share stories, and see pieces of themselves in each other was absolutely incredible and brought tears to my eyes. It’s amazing how family can find its way back together, even when it feels like the odds are impossible.

Welcome to the family, Dottie....or should I say Aunt Dottie 😍! Here’s to new memories, shared laughter, and all the love ahead. 🥂✨

We also had a very special visit with my 97 year old Step-grandmother Margaret Griffin. She is absolutely the most wonderful, classy and beautiful woman who loved my grandfather dearly and her sense of humor is a huge testament to how she put up with is dry wit for so many years 😅❤️. This gorgeous lady still does her own hair!

What an incredible day!! Family really IS everything that matters in life!

Being in the outdoors hiking is one of the things that makes me most happy and resets my soul. Getting to do it with my grandaughters, daughter and son-in-law was extra special. We had such a great day hiking around Shaver Pond at Grafton, had a small picnic on the lake, and then played on the playground. Robin is becoming such a little nature loving girl, it's special to see Lyndsay and Sean raising Robin and River with the same love of the outdoors that she was raised with. I'll take more days like this please!!
