I’m obviously not a dab hand at self-promotion because if I was, I would have posted this 3 months ago, at the end of May, when we were shooting this - our new short film.

It’s called ‘Serenade’. Written and directed by me and produced by Becky @rebeccajwhitney. Here you can see some BTS photos (by @nuriaribarossy) showing some of the fine people who helped make it all happen.

Huge thanks to our incredible cast: Stephen Wight, Nina Sosanya, Melissa Collier @collier3797, Jay Simpson @jaysimpson700, @stevemasonofficial and @burngorman1.

Thanks to our amazing crew, who included @bendavisbsc @ebdenjohn @michellemaycostume @bessymo_ and many, many more. We’ll publish a full crew list in later posts when the edit is more advanced - maybe with a trailer. You all know who you are and we are incredibly grateful.

Thanks to @katztim @colettekinsella and everyone at @knucklehead_hq, and massive props to @freddiejhill @gradedfilmsuk, without whose local knowledge and expertise this thing would never have taken flight.

I have to give particular thanks again to Bex who - despite being out of the film game for over two decades - not only got fully behind us spending our own money to finance this potty idea (it’s a musical rom-com, yeah I know, a lot to bite off) and shooting it entirely in our home city of Brighton, which was also its own hill of beans - but pulled the whole thing together with grace, kindness and calm.

Thanks Bex - you did a cracking job.

We are currently editing - praise be @joeguestdotcom @finalcutedit - and our soundtrack is a wonderfully eccentric song written specially for the film by @automatoms. I can’t wait for you all to see and hear the finished thing.

But really… we’re only halfway there.

So, I’ll keep you posted.

I am REALLY bad at this self promotion malarkey.

This is happening tomorrow.

Me and my brotherman @leighmarling will be talking about when we did done make music videos when were not old .

It may actually have have sold out - imagine that - but if there are tickets left and you do fancy popping by it would be nice to see YOU in particular.

29 years married yesterday. Went for a walk with the kids. Loved that they wanted to come. Hiked from Devils Dyke to Lewes across the South Downs in the glorious sunshine with the wind at our backs and finished up in a pub. As days go, it was a belter 😀 by @robleggatt

Doing a bit more research for our book on LRT. Liquid Relationship Therapy. Exactly one hour before this photograph was taken we were throwing kitchen utensils at each other. A brief time out in the pub and now we are planning to spend our joint retirement running a donkey sanctuary together in the Scilly Isles.
