BOAT PEOPLE is growing from a short into a feature. For Gotham Week, we’re going back to where it began.

On September 29 at 6:15 PM, the proof of concept screens at @nitehawkcinema in Prospect Park as part of the @thegotham Shorts-to-Features Showcase.

We made the short because this story about displacement couldn’t wait. It still can’t.

Huge thanks to @thegotham for backing the feature.

And none of this happens without the people who were there from day one. @thrdhrzn + @wegfilms, you believed in this from the jump. SOFL fam, you built this with us.

NYC, it’s time for you to experience it. Link in bio.

🎞️Summer vacation report: Jamaica ✅ Delroy Lindo’s directorial debut ✅ Winston, Marianne, Wendell and Seyi ✅ Sleep ❌

Made a movie in Jamaica with some people I’ve admired for a very long time and a crew I’ve loved and called family for a decade. Still feels slightly surreal seeing it in print.

Blessed to have played a part in bringing JABARI’S PEOPLE to life. Honored and Grateful to Delroy for the trust, our remarkable cast and crew, and to everyone who helped us get this thing across the line.

Special thanks and nuff gratitude to Kareen Blake Chin / @kbccasting for casting.

Delroy Lindo. Winston Duke. Marianne Jean-Baptiste. Wendell Pierce. Seyi Andes-Pelumi.
Also starring Shernet Swearine (@shernetswearine ) & Zoë-Danièle Chin Sang (@zomygosh ).

Not a bad way to spend a summer. ✊🏾🇯🇲

🎞️🇯🇲 From the hills of St. Andrew to one of ten films in competition at one of the cinema world’s great festivals, I could not be prouder to share that our film FAREYE will screen at this year’s BFI London Film Festival @britishfilminstitute

It was last January when what looked like a cold email landed in my inbox: a filmmaker about to make his debut, asking to come to Jamaica to shoot his second film, a story about a Jamaican youth on the run. The email was humble and respectful, but behind it was a personality brimming with positivity and ambition. The treatment had energy. I was in.

Nuff love to @mrstefanwade, @dr.avabrown24 and @sherandoferril for recommending me to @haydmclean to produce.

By July, we were on the ground in Jamaica, filming over a handful of days. And now, here we are: FAREYE, officially selected for the BFI London Film Festival Awards Programme.

Produced alongside @adeoadesina and @haroldsalaki1 , with @joelhoneywell leading the way behind the camera 🎥.

And none of it would have been possible without the amazing Jamaican cast and crew who helped us bring this story to life, including our lead actor Djamari Roberts , @annalisemcclure , @jesseroyal1 @yengkungku , @ayanariviere , @afroasianjamaican , @fareyefilms , @kimalabennett , @miltonfostersound, @iamdonisha, and @kbccasting to name a few. Congratulations to our entire FAREYE team. Honoured doesn’t quite cover it.

13 OCT — 5:50PM
Vue West End, Leicester Square

17 OCT — 2:50PM
BFI Southbank, NFT2

Also streaming on BFI Player throughout the festival, 7–18 October, as part of the Short Film Competition.

See you on the South Bank. 🇯🇲🇬🇧

Channing Frye proves he is in a class by himself as he pulls the receipts and demands reparations for LeBron’s thievery of #TacoTuesday. He and Richard also deliver the origin story of Lil Kev before the two make it abundantly clear thru their music choices that they grew up on very different sides of the tracks in Phoenix.

Champion, Wine Savant, and Sports PodCasting Originator tune into our latest episode on YouTube to understand how despite how crappy his favorite emoji is you want him in the group chat and he’s good in every room.

After a false start or two J.R. Smith @teamswish finally made his way to The Richard Show to discuss how different their hair journeys have been post retirement, why the tortilla soup in Cleveland should have been hotter, and JR cries after learning LeBron waived Richard to make room for Gabrielle Union’s husband. NBA champion, NC A&T golfer and one of the best second acts in sports, teams wish they got this candid Team Swish.

The 2016 NBA Finals Reunion Series is live now on YouTube and at the link in bio 🏆
