Interprofessional Education Event🤝🩺

Rockhurst University students from Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy participated in an interprofessional case discussion this morning, collaborating to strengthen their understanding of each profession’s roles and responsibilities. Through teamwork and shared learning, students are preparing to provide more comprehensive, patient-centered care in their future practice!

Pediatric Coordinators Friday! 👻🍂🖍️

Another great day of learning and fun with our pediatric coordinators at St. Elizabeth’s and St. Peter’s! 🤍 The kids enjoyed engaging, fall-themed, hands-on activities while our students continued building essential skills to support children’s development, independence, and participation in everyday activities.

We had such a great week of sessions!

Our next session will be in November and will mark the final session for our current pediatric coordinators as we prepare to welcome our new coordinators. We can’t wait to see what’s next! 🧸💙

📣 Calling all pediatric OT practitioners!

It’s that time of year again! 🧸💙 Rockhurst University OTD students are preparing to present their Pediatric Health Systems cases on Tuesday, October 13th, and we’re looking for current and former pediatric OT practitioners to serve as moderators!

Practitioners will have the opportunity to facilitate student presentations, provide valuable feedback, and share real-world insights about pediatric practice and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Location: Rockhurst University
Date: Tuesday, October 13
Orientation: 12:00–12:30 PM
Case Presentations: 12:30–2:30 PM
Pediatric Panel: 2:30–3:00 PM

💫💫Doctoral Captone Excperience & Project Highlight. Allana recently traveled to Kenya and Guatemala for her capstone. Last week, she returned from Guatemala where she had worked with Wings Aloft and Beeline Wheelchair Factory. She recorded English and Spanish caregiver education videos on wheelchair positioning, transfers, mobility, pressure relief, stretching, and wheelchair care for education booklets designed for caregivers of children who use wheelchairs in Guatemala and Kenya.
