Happy birthday @keziagillmusic and a great excuse to revisit one of my Sunday highlights @thelongroadfest

Kezia Gill made her own stage outfit. Apparently, she put in a request for the sunshine too.

On the Rhinestone Stage at @thelongroadfest, Kezia spoke about her late father and asking him for some sun during her set. After two days of rain, out it came.

A beautiful moment in one of my Sunday highlights. Big vocals, warmth and personality, with the confidence of someone who’s worked hard to get here. What a show!

From winning a competition to opening the Rhinestone Stage. @liampricemusic1 had earned this moment.

After gathering a crowd around rain-soaked VIP Stage, Liam stepped onto @thelongroadfest biggest stage on Sunday. An enormous jump, but he looked like he belonged there.

It’s one thing to talk about supporting emerging talent. Giving an artist the space to take a step like this is where it counts.

A little blues for your Sunday. @errol.linton at @thelongroadfest ongroad

Among a weekend packed with country and Americana, Linton’s blues offered another reason to explore @thelongroadfest beyond the main stage.

@broscomatose were a late addition to @thelongroadfest , stepping in for @shakeygraves . After watching them, my question was: why weren’t they on the lineup to begin with?

An excellent set, with their mix of Americana and folk feeling right at home at Stanford Hall.

The planned festival schedule could wait a little. @emilyscottrobinson had songs worth stopping for.

Her Sunday set at @thelongroadfest rewarded taking a break from rushing between stages and simply listening. A captivating voice which drew the crowd in from the get go.

@ronniewood @imeldaofficial and a field full of people who’d stopped caring about the rain.

Many wondered how this headline pairing would fit at @thelongroadfest By the end, they’d delivered one of my favourite performances of the weekend.

Ronnie was clearly enjoying himself, Imelda sounded phenomenal, and their chemistry, along with @iamchanelhaynes and the rest of the band made the whole thing feel effortless. Hearing not one but two musical icons in the pouring rain was a moment worth getting soaked for.

I caught up with @joshweathersofficial to talk Texas Country Soul, Niles City Sessions, his Grand Ole Opry debut, that I Will Always Love You performance, touring the UK with @drakemilligan and why he thinks music needs a few more imperfections.

We also got onto AI, Rickrolling Manchester and why apparently the British palate isn’t ready for Texas enchiladas.

@joshrossmusic looking every inch a future headliner at @thelongroadfest

His Rhinestone Stage set gave modern country some serious muscle, with huge choruses and an effortless connection with the crowd, despite the weather. He looked completely at home up there, delivering the kind of performance that makes you wonder how much longer his name will sit beneath other artists on festival posters. For much of it, I thought I was watching Saturday’s set to beat.
