Originally coming into DSU as a Nursing major I knew I had a passion for helping people. Two years ago, I chose PUBLIC HEALTH because I wanted to make a difference. I graduated knowing that healing communities starts with compassion, advocacy, and showing up for people when they need it most. This degree is more than a title, it’s a promise to serve, protect, and uplift. 🩺🌍🎓”

To my mom, Thank you for creating such a strong, resilient young woman. I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for you. I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me throughout my college years and prior. From the endless support and encouragement, you were always there, guiding me and believing in me even when I doubted myself. Thank you for the sacrifices you made, for cheering me on, and for teaching me the values, strength, and confidence that helped me get here. I’m so grateful for the incredible woman you are and for the amazing foundation you built in me. This accomplishment is for the both of us. WE DID IT MOMMA LOVE YOU!❤️

“Do what you got to do so you can do what you want to do.” 🎓

Man… this journey wasn’t easy. There were long nights staying up to finish assignments and projects, then waking up the next day for practice like nothing happened. Some days tested me, but through it all, I stayed motivated, stayed consistent, and never lost sight of the bigger goal.

First and foremost, I give all praise to the Most High for blessing me with this moment. Coming from the Bronx, New York, I know how easy it is for people to lose sight of their dreams or get distracted by life. But I kept pushing, stayed focused, and trusted the process and now, here we are.

I want to take a moment to thank my parents, grandma, cousins, coaches, and everyone who played a role in guiding me, supporting me, and believing in me throughout this journey. I truly wouldn’t be here without y’all.

And to my fallen angels I love y’all forever, and I hope I made y’all proud. This one is for you too ❤️

i want to shoutout and thank the members of the GodBrothers, Healing Hornets, BMI, & the DSU WellRec. the spaces you’ve provided for me to grow into the multi-faceted individual i can confidently say i am in a fashion i never expected to experience, were a blessing to be present in, and i can’t thank every member, advisor, co-worker, & pro-staff enough.

growing up with two brothers, i always wanted to have a sister. through every step of the pageant, you and my pageant bros showed me endless support, love, and humility. we all went from RAG$ to RICHE$.. rich in service. rich in progress. the opportunity to be a part of this pageant was a blessing in disguise, that cultivated some of my most genuine friendships and bonds.

i treat you all like family, because during my childhood growing up in northside wilmington, delaware, i’ve witnessed the woman in my life go through traumatic and life-changing situations. growing up where & how i did, you’d want to be the change you need to see too.

i always wanted to normalize service, chivalry, and integrity.. AND I HAVE.

Zeta Delta, i want you all to know, that the man i am now, was molded by our countless memories, intellectual conversations, and shared intention to serve this illustrious campus and community. thank y’all for trusting me, confiding in me, laughing, crying, praying with me, and so much more.

It takes a strong woman to bleed Columbia Blue and Cherry Red. These past four years have built me into the woman I am now. But, as I sit back and think it was ALL worth it. Those obstacles were needed. Those talks were needed.

Faith carried what fear couldn’t touch. This is not just a degree, this is a TESTIMONY. To know me is to know my story. A young black girl from Brooklyn,NY who’s making something of herself. Not allowing where she grew up to affect her future. Being from the projects, one of few to receive a Bachelors degree means a lot to me. I stand proud of my achievements while at DSU. Juggling school, cheer and other extra curricular activities I still managed to do it in FOUR! I PERSEVERED! 🌟

Thank you forever for gifting me the space and opportunity to grow and learn more about myself. Thank you for my forever friends and mentors I have created. Through it all, I can’t do nothing but thank my home: The Hive 🐝.

Behind this smile holds sleepless nights, self-doubt, tears, growth, and perseverance. This isn’t just a degree, it’s a reminder that where God has a will, there will always be a way. I am beyond grateful for every valley and every mountain that has led me to the moment.
