Around the Perimeter Challenge
Ultra: 50km/32mi
13:42mi pace

Yesterday I skipped a Marathon & logged an Ultra instead! This was my longest run of all time. My last run before this was a 3.75mi run on 4/23 & my longest run before this was a Half Marathon last November.

This was not easy by any means. Started on 125th in Harlem & I was feeling fresh until around Mile 18-20. By the time I was getting near the Battery Park area & was headed to the East Side I was walking. Cramps in both of my quads along with pain starting to settle in on my feet, I was ready to quit & call it a day.

Kept walking & decided I needed to break & eat so I took a final pit stop near Pier 36, ate 2 slices of pizza, finished an Electrolyte drink, and was in the most pain I’ve ever felt in a long time after getting back up. Everything was starting to get numb.

I dug deep at this point after warming back up & pushed myself to run. Ran at a 11-13mi pace from 34th to 111th and honestly after getting to Mile 26 I got very emotional. I just completed a Marathon for the 1st time in my life. At that point I knew I was going to complete this loop. An Ultra is now in the books.

It’s unbelievable what you are capable of when you set out to do something. At many times your body wants to quit, it gives you the signs that it wants to give up but it’s your mind that keeps you in the game. I hope you can go push yourself, dig deep, and prove yourself right. I’m the proof that it’s possible. taken in Manhattan, New York by @rocky.sbd

I’m a little late to the part but I finally got to try @fromkora today! Grabbed myself a box of 6 equally delicious & unique bakery items.

This box totaled to around $42 which puts each item roughly around $8. Each item behind the glass ranged from $5-$8. For me, this was absolutely worth it.

My ratings for each are as follows:
Peach & Mango Fritter 10/10
BlackBerry & Jasmine Cream 9.5/10
Ube 9.5/10
Carmel Flan 9/10
Coffee Cruller 8.5/10
Cinnamon Cruller 8/10
