The best part of an art gallery, for me, is watching people experience the work.
You walk in, you see the new pieces, and then you notice how everyone moves around them. Someone steps in close. Someone else steps back. Every person has their own connection to what is in front of them, and no two are the same.
That spectacle is something I really enjoy. To me, it is art in itself, separate from the work on the wall.
It is the same feeling I get in the stands at a great match. Everyone is watching the same point, and everyone is seeing something different. The court and the canvas.
With art season getting closer, I am sharing some of the conversations with artists that have stayed with me. This one with Rod (@rodartfactory) is one of them, and I do not take it for granted. I am looking forward to what this season brings.

Planning for Art Basel Miami Beach:
When are the public days? December 4 to 6, 2026, at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
What else is happening? Miami Art Week runs November 30 to December 6, with more than 20 art fairs plus museum and gallery shows across the city.
Why I am excited: the crowds. Watching thousands of people meet the work is half the experience.

An artwork does not begin on a wall. It begins in the studio.

This is where I search, doubt, build and deconstruct.

Every fragment is selected, moved and observed. Every relief changes the light, the depth and the perception of the whole. Gradually, matter stops being simply material: it becomes memory, tension and language.

My work around Fragmentation comes from a desire to create artworks that can never be fully discovered at first glance. Pieces that evolve according to distance, light and the viewer’s perspective.

The studio is the artwork’s first exhibition space. It is where intuition meets precision, and where chaos begins to find its balance.

When you look at an artwork, what attracts you first: the image, the material or the story it seems to contain?

A heartfelt tribute to America , its energy, its contradictions, its promises, and its power to inspire dreams.

Through the Fragmentation, R O D creates a visual DNA of the American experience: states, memories, urban signs, colors, symbols, and stories coming together as one living territory.

The U.S. dollar becomes more than currency. It becomes a metaphor for ambition, hope, reinvention, and the complex pursuit of success.

For the R O D, AMERIKA is deeply personal: a gesture of gratitude to a country that allowed him to pursue his own American dream through art.

Exploring with the artist ROD at @garynader art center and sculpture park, SWIPE ➡️TO SEE a few other artworks, by legendary artists like Frank Stella and Wifredo Lam alongside fellow creators was extraordinary! As an artist @rodartfactory and I his artist representative/advisor, we were so impressed by the scale, lighting ambience and curation The space spans 55,000 square feet. It houses some of the most important art collections in the world. Frank Stella, Wilfredo Lam, Botero, Rafael Jesus Soto, along side contemporary artists such as Soroya Abu Naba’a, amongst other contemporary artists, was delightful and inspiring to see. #modernart #artcollector #loveislove❤️🌈 #artfeedsthesoul. taken in Miami Design District by @rodartfactory

A mother holds the lifeless body of a hero.

Here, Captain America replaces the sacred figure of the savior: a modern icon of courage, protection and sacrifice. But the hero has fallen. He is no longer invincible. He becomes fragile, human, silent.

Facing him, the mother does not choose despair. Adorned with gold, light and jewels, she embodies absolute love — the kind that still protects, even when it can no longer save.

LA PIETÀ speaks of fallen myths, of our need to believe in saviors, but above all of the silent power of love, acceptance and letting go.
