🇳🇱 Summer Dance Forever Weekender, Winter 2026

40 starts strong 💪, the dance is dedicated to @taztazthebulldog - Thank you for fighting the damn cancer and still vibing with me for more months. 💙💙

Last year was rough, and canceling my SDF plans felt like a huge loss at the time. But that “pause” turned out to be a blessing. It forced me to stop and ask: Why do I do this? I spent the last few months training daily and working remotely with mentors I really look to. To be honest, I doubt myself constantly, but the progress is starting to outweigh the fear. Being back in Amsterdam this winter feels like a full-circle moment. Last year I was solo and scared; this year, I’m balanced, having fun, and surrounded by community.

I’m still super critical of my rounds, but for the first time, I felt good while on stage. Even when the music felt impossible, I pushed through. Looking back, I can finally see the growth I’ve been working so hard for. Here’s to the journey and the next level. 🥂

Thank you @timpostuma , @hugocamposbr , @kaide.leviathanflow ,and @_wesgood for willing to spending time with me sharing your knowledge. Feel so fun to be there in person cheering for you guys and share the same space :)

And of course Bay Area homies keep encouraging me.

🇳🇱 Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Netherlands, February 2026

To me, solo travel is a reflection. It’s an invitation to slow down, evaluate what matters, and reconnect. I loved exploring a new part of the city and seeing friends, but mostly, I loved the reminder to stay truthful to myself in this brief, warm life. 🌷💫

Love this trip with museum, concert, exploring food, workshops, events and connecting with friends 💙 taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands by @rodntaz

🇬🇧 January, 2026, London, UK

One of dumbest travel plan I ever had, flying back from Taiwan to San Francisco, stay for couple hours - change my luggage, wash clothes, gives lots of pet and belly rubs to Taz then fly to London directly.

A city I’ve been to way too many times but every time has some good reflection. This is probably the first time I’m here without any work, simply just walking the city and processing life in general.

Fortunately to meet old friends, dance sessions to meet new communities friends and enjoying myself navigating memories and multicultural observations.

You never know what others been through, but kindness will bring people closer, I got many bad things in life but also the positives are things craved in the memory. taken in London, United Kingdom by @rodntaz

🇹🇼 December 2025, Taipei, Taiwan

Back to home town to recharge. Never enough time to spend with friends and family - reclaiming all the lost memories. Everyone has now a full life stories to share, the city kind of the same but also with new energy and spirit.

Thanks for everyone make it to share this special trip with me, and got to exchange life while we are still breathing in this world. Knowing we all fighting our own demons but still enjoying the life connected us in a meaningful way.

Got to show some best of Taiwan to special friends also make this trip memorable. Haven’t visited some places for more than 20 years, bring me straight back to old days. 野柳,九份,十分,木柵動物園, 薑母鴨,芋圓,花生卷冰淇淋,必勝客,紅葉蛋糕,夜市小吃, also exploring some new places I’ve never been.

Until next time my home town. taken in Taipei, Taiwan by @rodntaz

40.

I recall our high school days, when we would chat with friends, declaring that it was long enough to simply live until the age of 40, and now it was finally the time.

It’s been so long since I celebrated my birthday at home that I can’t even recall the last time. For the past 10+ years, I’ve mostly indulged in buying myself a small cake or planning a trip, and spending some quiet time alone in a remote place for introspection with my pet Taz.

As I step into the second half of my life, I’m uncertain whether I’ve contributed meaningfully to the world or the people around me. However, I’ve found immense joy in the experiences and opportunities that life has offered me.

I must admit that this life I’ve chosen is quite different from what I envisioned as a child. Nevertheless, I am grateful for the support and assistance I’ve received throughout my journey.

With the remaining uncertain duration of my life, I genuinely hope to maintain my positive energy and share it with those I care about. I also want to remind myself that I am doing well and that I should continue to be true to myself.

Age is just a number, but also a reminder to always live in the moments. Be curious and kind to the world and keep a young heart forever.

Social thanks to friends who take care of the sick Taz during the time, it’s too much to ask and I’ll be forever grateful.

Thank you for friends and family celebrating with me in this very short trip, the memories will last. by @rodntaz

2025

What a shitty year, never in my life experienced so much of downhill - almost like free falling to the bottom of the ocean.

The year starts strong with some good quality travel with Taz , winter Europe and dance event, Taiwan and best wedding ever in Thailand, then it just starts to fall apart quickly.

Crashed my car on highway and traumatized - took more than half year to repair , super burnt out from work but no way to get out, Taz got diagnosed with bone cancer and has only 3-4 months expected life span, close friends experience life changing challenges, all house items starts to break, not able to sleep for months and mentally fragile and broken, and I lost my direction of life.

Grateful that at the end of the year things started to stabilize a bit. Taz passing two times of the expected life span and not showing too painful symptoms, job getting a bit better at the end, weekly therapy session helps me greatly to find the strength to push forward, daily dance and weekly training with mentors also gives me stability that I was praying for so long.

Life looks okay from social but in reality it’s so bad that I don’t even know where to start, but I’m proud of myself able to push through the long year.

Probably looking back from future; those pain will be super small and funny. by @rodntaz

First of 2026 and last of my 39.

The pop quiz marks a milestone for my training.
Has been training with some of the best mentors/friends and dance daily for months.

My body definitely not working well after eventful weeks and back to back dance workshop but grateful to see where I am now and looking forward to enjoy more and be “free” from the movement and self flow.

Thank you Taiwan

The holidays arrived early this year, and with it, Taz's 10th birthday! When his diagnosis came, I thought our world would crumble, but this little warrior has been defying expectations and fighting hard.

This year was a whirlwind, but with Taz's health stable, we embarked on our annual adventure, celebrating 10 incredible years.

Just when life seemed to settle, new challenges emerged. But I've learned to find strength in vulnerability.
People often say I'm an inspiration, but the truth is - we're all in this together.

Grateful for my support system - friends, therapists, and dance mentors who bring light to my life.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! May we find peace in the chaos. by @rodntaz

Out of hiatus.

After the winter trip to Europe and Asia, life suddenly takes a huge turn to one of the lowest tide of my life.

Now thinking of last winter at a house event in the bay, I was also in a really bad shape that I have zero energy to share with the community and I hated the feeling so badly.

The winter Europe trip put me back a bit to the “norm” but then things just got out of control.

If you asked what I’ve learnt this past half years, I’ll say - life isn’t always clear and able to control. What we can control is really how we view it.

Finally get a bit peace of these random uncertainties and out of the limbo state a bit and thank friends, family and community support that get to come out this weekend to enjoy and celebrate the culture.

Do I like my round? Definitely not. There are lots of things I wish I could’ve done better but this is also just a reflection of where I am now. The focus is flow, groove, patience and identity.

Thank you for all my teachers and friends who share their view of the house culture with me and help me to navigate.

It’s more than a dance to me - I’m not happy for where I am but I’m excited about where I’m heading to.

This is probably the most luxurious vehicle I’ve ever/will owned. I still remember how excited I was when the new 992 style of the Porsche 911 first came out; I immediately went online to book and build the exact style myself. I absolutely love the combination of the red interior with the white exterior—it just feels like it reflects so much of my personality. I was one of the first people in the Bay Area to get this new model... and then the pandemic hit.

Most of the time, Taz is the only passenger I drive—with @andrewyuhhh being a close second! It’s a super high-profile car with a loud engine, but it’s definitely been a fun experience. Taking this car on a road trip also made the whole adventure feel completely different.

The car also brings back a lot of mixed memories. I ran the battery down two or three times, and then there was the time it broke down in the desert (a big thanks to @eriksylvester for saving me and Taz!). Worse, this year, I had a crash on the highway. Fortunately, I was mostly unharmed, but the huge repair bill and the long, agonizing wait—it took more than half a year of my life—made me seriously rethink keeping the car.

What was even more difficult was finding myself a bit traumatized driving the car again, especially at night, which is when the crash happened.

So, this weekend, I decided to trade the car in. I didn’t get the best deal, but this decision gives me a sense of comfort and good closure on the trauma. I’m ready to move to the next stage.

I’ll probably never spend this much on a car again, but I’m so glad I experienced it once in my lifetime and that it led to good memories with friends, family, and Taz—everyone I drove before.

🇺🇸 Sequoia and Yosemite National Park, June, 2025, USA

Super spontaneous trip, decide one day before the trip start and then a small road trip to the nature.

I’m not sure how @taztazthebulldog enjoining the trip, but he is my favorite shotgun - even though he sleeps most of the time, I still manage to drive long rides and in funky mountain road!

Let’s still enjoy more of the fresh air ❤️‍🩹 by @rodntaz

🇺🇸 Yellowstone, USA, June 2025

2006, 2014, 2015, 2025

This place leaves an indelible mark on my life journey with each visit. The passage of time is almost frozen here, contrasting sharply with the outside world.

Yellowstone has been a constant source of magic in my life, particularly during my 20s. As I approach a new decade, I'm reminded that life's ups and downs are just a small part of a much larger, more intricate tapestry.

My dream of taking my pup on a Yellowstone adventure may not have come to fruition, but I still feel like he's with me, exploring this enchanting place through my eyes. ❤️‍🩹 taken in Yellowstone National Park by @rodntaz
